That looks awesome! Given the hand built quality, I would love to have one someday. Can I ask the ball park on the price?
For mine, $8800...

Steve

Mine was ordered so long ago, the base price was $4500 plus options. That was 2007, though.

Options on mine include:
Brazilian rosewood fretboard
No condom around the truss rod
Hide Glue construction
Repro fretboard inlays like the 50's
No wire ABR-1 bridge
Lightweight aluminum tailpiece with steel studs/anchors
NOS Sprague Bumble Bee caps (.022/400v)
1963 Patent # pickup 7.41k
1959 Patent Applied For (PAF) 8.26k
CTS 500k audio taper pots
50's wiring
Aged plastic, jack plates, pickguard, toggle switch chip and truss rod cover
Grover tuners 18:1 gear ration
Gibson Historic case
Switchcraft toggle, wiring and jacks.

That all came to around $7500 all done. I got the Pat # & PAF's years ago, they only cost $1900 for the pair. Way more than that now.

I ended up going with Wizz PAF clone pickups and I got a wiring harness from a '67 ES-335 with nice unmolested Centralab pots and original caps - my builder says those original Centralab pots make a big difference...

I can't wait to see what that top looks like finished. I asked him to try to match the faded '59 on page 92/93 of the Beauty of the Burst book. It was Paul Stanley's at one time:

Mad respect for any cat that's got the patience for building from scratch.

We'll have to get together and compare our replicas when yours is done, Steve. In case you missed mine, 8 years and 3 months in the making (2 years? Sheesh!)...

We definitely have to do that! I did catch your thread with that killer build - real beauty, man!

Steve
You guys can "cross swords" :emofag: :grim:

But on a serious note, congrats!!!

That Maple looks sweet. Can't wait to see updates to this thread. I picked out the maple on my replica build last week, but I'm still about a year away from taking delivery. The wait is going to be tough. In the mean time, I just got a Corsa Manalishi yesterday and I'm really enjoying it. Granted it's not a "replica" but it sure does friggin play, look and sound as good or better than any Historic / R9 / etc. I've come in contact with.

This thread just completely ruined my morning coffee causing huge GAS.
Congrats Steve! You are getting the Best!

Look forward to seeing the finished fiddle. I bet it will be fantastic!

Lookin' GOOD, man! Looks like we'll be taking delivery close to the same time...

You won't be able to put it down Steve. I've yet to play anything better. Looking fwd to the finished product!!

My builder only had time for a couple crappy cell phone pics, but I thought I'd share 'em anyway. Paint/Clear is complete and he has done the light aging/checking I asked for but you can't see it in the pictures. He has all the parts and expects to ship at the end of next week or early the week after. Can't wait!
