Cool little amps. I played my buddy's through his evh 1x12 cab. Sounded great! He let me borrow it so I could try it through my evh 2x12. Sorry to say that it didn't sound as good through the bigger cab.
Mine sounds great through a splawn 2x12?
My 2x12 is a vertical recto style though, maybe that makes a difference?
what about it did not sound as good?

Could be the vertical. It was too glassy on the top end and didn't have the low end chunk that I get out of my evh 50 watt through that cab. I knew it would sound different because of big vs small bottle tubes, but I much preferred the lbx through the 1x12 evh cab. Not that it was "bad. " just wasn't my thing.

After playing a blackstar ht 5, a friedman pink taco, and the lbx, I'm learning that anything below 50 watts isn't for me.

Shred75, yeah now that you said too glassy and not enough low end i can promise you it was the cab
My cab makes the LBX sound very low endy(is that even a word?   )
and the highs are just perfect.
I found the 50 watt lacking in highs with the creambacks and the LBX's extra highs helped that.
Now of course i will not go as far to say it moved air like the 50 but from what you described i am not experience those issues at all with the LBX through a vertical recto style 2x12.

450?? Damn you! Sold my Micro Terror for something with an FX loop and takes IEC power (it's hard to have a portable back up amp that needs a completely different power supply)

I've been torn between the Dark Terror and the 6505MH but if I could get a EVH for around those two's prices I'd be on that instantly

Glad it matches with what you've got. It's a great little amp , no doubt. I don't know anything about the cream backs, but after running the 50 and a recto verb through the g12 h30s, I've become accustomed to a really full low end that only 50 watts and above seem to give me. Same for my powerball. I'm not in any way, shape, or form saying that I hated the lbx or that you're wrong lol

I think the lbx is one of the best small form factor amps out there. My friend has the lbx and a friedman pink taco. I played the crap out of them through his 1x12 and thought the lbx wiped the floor with the pt, which sounded nasal and muffled and anemic in terms of gain no matter how high I dialed the mids and high end. ..for about half the price, too lol

Enjoy! Fender evh makes GREAT gear. Love my quarter stack and stealth wolfgang.

Wow really?? it took out a PT by friedman?
I did know the PT would not get those gain levels without a pedal.

Alright can you guys guarantee me I`ll like the LBX if I get one LOL. Friedman dosen`t need anyone sticking up for them with all the love his amps get but the PT sounds pretty bitchin' here

Yes. Both my buddy and I noticed that it was more lively and even than the pt. I didn't care for the friedman voicing at all.

I'll guarentee it! I also have a nice bridge for sale, if you're interested ;)

I'm looking for something to use at my friends house and leave it there, so I don't have to lug around my 4x12's and amps. Is the LBX powerful enough through a 2x12 to play over a drummer?

if you are going to "leave it there" get the 50 watt head. the LBX does not sound that great cranked.
The idea of the LBX is to transport it easily so i don't understand why you would not take it with you?
it weighs 15 LBS?
the 50 with a 2x12 will drown out a drummer! :D

It sure will ! Exactly what I use and my drummer is pretty loud. My volume is under 12 o'clock. I run it through a carvin 212 V30's. Sounds awesome !

IMO the loop in the 50w is killer...how does the LBX loop compare?

I could take it back and forth, but the reality is, I have five different setups already at home (first world problem I know). I just remodeled my kitchen, which took out the easy access stairwell to my basement side door. So I'm left with carting all of my crap up through the main stairs, through the house and out the front door. I don't want to deal with that. My drummer lives in a shitty rental house and I'm worried that eventually it will get broken into. So this is insurance if you will. My homeowners ded. is $1000, so I would rather write off $600 vs $850 on the value of the head. When it comes to gigging, if it ever comes back to that, I will take the good stuff. With that said, I do appreciate the feedback on the sound of it cranked, that is something that I hadn't considered.
