It's so tempting. Just sold one of my amps and a guitar is going to it's new home next week, GAS reloading and this does not help...

I really didn’t need another amp, but I have to say I’m very, very happy I jumped on this. It’s an incredible piece of work. I have other amps with lots of controls, but the Hellion controls are all really useful and I haven’t found a combination that makes the amp sound bad. Compare that to my Mark IV (lots of controls, but easy to get it wrong) or my XTC (lots of controls, but many are set and forget for me). The Hellion controls just seem to open up huge range of different useable tones and feels - really impressive.

Ultraplex excels at all those sounds. It really is a second amp in the same box.

I don’t think any other high gain amp can be as brutal yet do the range of sounds this one does. It’s really unparalleled in versatility.

I don’t mean to be too forward about it, but I don’t think a lot people realize what this amp is capable of yet. The high gain sounds are really incredible. But it does A LOT more. I haven’t been self promoting it much. I figure the real-world user feedback will speak for itself eventually.

This amp is special. It’s the one I’ve been trying to make for years. It so finely tuned and dialed in.

This clip is Ultraplex using a neck humbucker that’s coil tapped. Single coils are even more SRV-ish.

Do you still built them like this? And you do use chokes, do you? Do you have gut shots of the current Version? What's the Price for the 3 with shipping to Germany? View attachment 459365

They are all PCB now. No more flying leads. But it’s built right, not all jinky jank like some PCB amps.

I actually hired the same engineer who designs Friedman’s PCB’s. He is very experienced and knows what he’s doing. He is very expensive, but I wanted the best designed boards possible.

I don’t use ribbon cables or any of that stuff. All connections between main board and front panel are hand wired. Power tube sockets are all heavily reinforced with standoffs etc…

The sound coming out of the amp should be a testament to the quality of the build and parts used. Transformers are Heyboer, chassis is all stainless, Vishay MKT1813 capacitors, Beyschlag metal film resistors etc, etc…

My profit margin is likely much less than other amp builders. It’s an expensive amp to build. But I don’t care. I’d rather have all ultra-high quality parts instead of max profit.
