NAD: Marshall 4104

I might be having second thoughts on the Celestion Modern 70s. I stuck an SM57 on one and recorded this, just to see...
Hanging my ass out there as usual, first take, throwing whatever against the wall to see. Anyway, I think they have a place under the mic:

I love this amp. If someone offered to trade me for the Wizard MC50 I had, which I've missed quite a bit...
Wouldn't do it. Love this thing.

Right on brother

Hey LpMojo uplift party,
true acid test here buddy,
about maybe more then a decade ago,
I attended a gear’fest in Orlando in
which I brought a Friedman Marsha and Naked
with two different 4X12’s.
There were a slew of high gain cruncher’s & hangers on…,
a high gain/low gain Cameron Jose which was
pretty rad…
This was a serious reality inner landscape moment dude…
In fact, I heard it cascading into my eardrums.
An old school Marshall 2X12 with a drive/boost pedal.
You know the sound/feeling when you install a NOS preamp tube or even a new production TungSol 12Aax7 in V1 and it makes that little bit of KILLER rad’ness??
THAT!, was what separated that Marshall from every amplifier and cabinet combination in that building.
No denying it.
TONE IS NOT SUBJECTIVE, how about objective?
Maybe it’s subjective when you get your ass handed to you??

-So, I exited the building and walked over to the RXR tracks and it came cascading on down…,
I need to get me one of those monsters motherf’ker’s!!!
For me, the vertical input one’s were more to my liking.
That 1987 overdrive/fuzz 2in 1 pedal was really good with it.
And in the end, the old school 75’s for driver’s just worked out the best, there’s always some fiber of compromise with these old school amps.
6550’s have a throaty’ness and bolder bite,
KILLER with a Les Paul junior/P90 & 335 with Classic 57’s.
That’s an amp you show up with,
kick everyone’s ass,jump in a fat whip..& leave.

Nice job, as usual! Boosted Marshall needs to in every collection…I don’t care how modern your tone is. It just works.

One year anniversary, just noticed. Still loving it. RFT in V1, no Hot Mod V2 needed, V30/GB mix at the moment.
Still the best Marshall I've owned, probably played.
