I have a DRGX red stripe going to Dann in a few days. Will be getting a IIC+/++ mod as well as V1/R2 volume mod and pentode switch,



This but with v1 mod too

This dude knows these amps for sure. What exactly is a V1 mod? What does that do?

Sounds sick, would be interested in hearing new tubes in it. I feel like I never see people try new tubes in Marks and always just use Mesa branded ones.

I have all Non-Mesa tubes in my 84 IIC+:
NOS Siemens EL34s and NOS Tungsram and RCA 12AX7s. It also has a bias pot mod done by James Peters so it could use either 6L6 or EL34s.

I just received a IIC+ RI today and will be interesting to get back to the Mark sounds again.

I'd owned more than 5 mark IIIs but never had a red stripe, so I had to at least try one! So here it is - this one dates back to October 1987. It's a simul class El34 / 6L6 but I am planning to test some NOS Reflektor 6P3S Es that I have! Not much time to play but I dig it a lot! It's been serviced - new caps and it's ultra quiet!
