This just in.
Possibly due to this thread, and the persuasion of other tone sick amp geeks, I have acquired what so far seems to be a most badass mistress.

The Marshall needs some room in that shot. Congrats on that beast on top?

SOT.. How often are you guys replacing your KT88's? I thought I detected my tone was a bit thin last time I jammed with a drummer.. It's been a good 5 years since I installed them.

I replaced mine when one died. It was about a decade. But it is hours of use not years old that matters. It's not like you crank a Deliverance. I pretty much always have the Master in the 9 -10 o'clock range.

I messed around with having the Master up in the 1 - 2 o'clock range with gain very low. This changes the vowel sound. Highly recommend using a attenuator when doing this.

I had my UL for about 9 years before I changed them. New tubes sounded good, but didn’t notice much differ so I imagine the originals are still fine.

I just play at home and have a bunch of amps so I’m probably not putting excessive hours on any of them because I tend to rotate the amps I play.

2204. Deliverance. Roxy. sunset Strip.

In that clip the Deliverance sounds to me bigger, heavier, punchier, more robust/headroom than the Marshall, but comparatively a bit bland/flat in tone, a bit hollow when you went right from the Marshall to it. The Marshall had to my ears more growl, character and richness to the tone. Same finding when I’ve tried them in person, so it’s interesting to see that in a clip

Spot on. Marshall more raw and growly, D60 more refined, punchy.

I know I am going to catch some shit for this. But i feel like the deliverance does marshall better than marshall

Nothing wrong with that, but I do completely disagree. Different flavors imo. The Deliverance imo doesn’t at all have the same growl, feel, warmth or “kerrang” that is signature to the Marshall sound. That smooth, hollowness they have in the mids when you play a powerchord is to me an opposite characteristic to Marshall tone. Just my experience though. Also, those old Marshall’s have that vintage flavor that imo can’t really make any amp made past the ‘90’s really be a better Marshall imo, just it’s own thing that you either prefer or don’t
