I recently got this chassis back from Andy Marshall. He did a full Plexi conversion from the original Bassman circuit, as well as a comprehensive service (comes w/2yr warranty). I just got done mounting it in a new headshell. I've been playing guitar for 46 years, owned a ton of Marshalls. This amp has the best Marshall tone I've ever owned. The volume level is also rediculous; easily way louder than my HR50 and KSR PA50. I'm going to have to build a second iso cab for my drummer's studio to handle the horsepower because it'll just melt the single Greenback in my other iso cab. There's nothing like plugging straight in to a cranked 4-hole that's healthy. So good.

Looks super cool. Wouldn't fit my personal style but that is a great looking amp.

Mine is my favorite amp. I've only seen a few for sale in the last 25 years.

Andy Marshall is one of the few people I trust to work on my amps. He rebuilt my THD Series One Plexi a few years ago. The harmonics and touch sensitivity is over the top. I really trust his ear and opinions. I met him in 1986.
I definitely recommend using a THD Hot Plate or Fryette Power Station. I usually use s Hot Plate with my THD amps.

I bought mine off Ed Degenaro about 2010. It's based after a 69' small box. It's simply the best sounding Marshall I have ever heard.
Ed told me the Marshall Bob Marley own was the best Marshall he ever heard.
Obviously this stuff is very subjective.

Congratulations. I rarely hear them mentioned.

Never really got a grip on how the different models of these compare, there´s the Blues, the Rock and roll, the Plexi, the Type 0... but I´ve always heard good stuff about them.

How did you get the shell ? The tweed looks nice.

Andy offered me a beat-up headshell and a beat-up 2x12 combo shell, but he also said to just get Mojotone to make me one if I wanted a new one. They had a tweed Bassman headshell in stock, so I snagged it for about $80 less than what Andy wanted for his very used headshell. Then I just transferred the logo badge over from the 4x10 combo shell that donated the chassis.

I'll probably bring the combo shell and speakers to the next local guitar show and flip 'em.

I gave Andy the 2x10 cab in the photo above a few years ago. It was very beat up when I got it.

I usually set it for crunch. Cleans with the guitar volume. J. Rockett Archer IKON for leads. The cleans have a lot of glass.
