Both of those sounds good. I get the snappy vs realistic comparison. Can you blend both tracks onto one song?

I could...but then again so could you. :) If you plan to use EzDrummer, that means you have recording software. Download the MP3s and do what you want with them.

I prefer playing songs back-to-back in two instances of a media player, or in a playlist (toggling the songs back and forth). That way I can compare specific sections of the songs. (I do this often when comparing mixes.) Playing one after the other gives you more time between certain parts to forget how specific sections sounded.

I wasn't asking will you, I was asking if it was theoretically possible to use the software to blend both in one song. Recording software and ezdrummer are on the list to purchase this year.

There are at least a couple ways you can do it. Load 2 instances of the plugin (one on each track or "instrument slot" depending on which host app you use), load a different kit in each, feed the MIDI to both plugins. If you can't do that for some reason (I can't think of why though, since the major players all allow it, including Reaper), you could load a kit and then "print" the drums to an audio track, then go back and load a second kit.

James....

Thanks man...Those are great examples. Especially using the same midi file. Been wanting some opinions, and I think I made up a decision. Appreciate the taking time and loading those files for me! You da man!

That metal machine snare is bomb.

Glad to help!

That snare does sound really nice. Each "pack" has a few of each kit piece, so there are more snares you can choose from. They're all generally pretty "real" and nice sounding to me. The "Vintage Rock" kit has some nice snares along those lines too; I like that pack in general, especially since it's suited to a lot more than just vintage rock.

The "Metal Machine" has other snares too, but no surprise that they're all more snappy/in-your-face than the ones in "Made of Metal". If I had to choose one pack, I'd choose "Made of Metal". That and "Vintage Rock" are my favorites. Although I know I should be using "Metal Machine" sometimes, it's hard for me to start a project with it since it sounds so obviously metal.

Thanks for the heads up again Webb!!! I didnt get it for $77 lol, but still happy with $119. They wouldn't budge off their inital counteroffer and actually raised the buy now from 139 to 149 after i put in the offer. All good though, was $150 everywhere else i looked .

Ok, just got EZ Drummer2 and I'm loving it so far. My next question is, I'm on a tight budget and I want to get a midi controller to use with ez drummer2. Is the Korg nanoKEY2 a decent option? Thanks for all your help here guys!!!!! I'm sure it's obvious I'm a major noob lol.

You can use any keyboard or pad that has midi capabilities. Or buy a midi drumkit.

Thanks Crwnd!!! I think I'm figuring it out slowly but surely. This is def a fun program to mess with.

yes I have the nano key works great and cheap..also just upgraded to ezd2 after watching fluffs demo vid...also got the upgrade for $75 off ebay so its worth it for sure...

Thanks 155!!!!! I've been messing with it more and not sure I need it for now but I may do something in the future. Got some drums figured out, now I just gotta get up and play with them.
