New amp from Port City, The Sterling - UPDATED 10-2-12

If they no longer make it, what's the problem with using the name? I've seen other companies do that (Epiphone/Bell/Vox Pacemaker, Trainwreck/Mesa Boogie Express immediately come to mind). I like the Onyx name and look on that amp.

Hate To Be the Odd one Out But THe best amps Ive Owned have Had NO presence control/knob...never liked em

You're counting on someone using the same guitar/speaker setup you have? There are too many variables with cab/speaker/pickup combinations, potential customers are asking for it...seems like a simple fix.

Agreed. The presence is one of the most important controls on an amp IMO. Not having one is a mistake. $3 pot, a cap and some wire? C'mon...

Good looking amp. Those knobs are boss. That second clip sounds really nice. As far as the presence knob debacle...if there's an internal trim pot already, might as well just punch a hole and move it to the back. Or just not tell people about the trim pot. :-)
 
The clip needs more presence, pull the chassis and adjust please :lol: :LOL:

I'm the guy that suggested the Onyx name; sorry about that. I was aware of the Two Rock Onyx, but it slipped my mind.

I am so excited for this amp. Sounds beefy.
