Thanks! Really some great deals out there locally (mpls) lately on Craigslist. Missed out on a vertical input JCM 800 combo for 650...but I grabbed the JCM bass head instead.

I also just picked one of the MIJ So-Cals up from Ebay for 600. Completely new and unplayed with serial JC10000116 meaning it was made before the serious quality cuts found in the MIM version. Slightly scalloped frets, very cool

Congrats! Looks like we have twins! Its a great color. Ferrari red I believe. The more I play it, the more I like it. If you can't find a USA grab a MIJ version. Minor difference.

I've only played one, it was used at a music go round in the twin cities. Felt cheaper/lighter, neck seemed close but I didn't like it near enough to the US/MIJ versions. Just a feel thing. But it probably needed a set up..like most do at any store.

BTW mine is also a MIJ....they moved to Mexico in 2012/13 I believe. Mine is a 2011, the last year of the MIJ.

The Mexican Charvel was also a lot lighter from what I remember, both my USA and MIJ have a similar weight to them...pretty heavy for a Superstrat. The Charvel Custom I had was also heavy like these two..but the Custom neck was a work of art.

I've heard nothing but great things about the customs.
I remember my us model having a nice neck, and average weight.. Not too light nor heavy.

The evh series also mim but people are liking those. I played one for a quick minute and liked it, not enough time to really look over. Never played the mim SoCal.
