Those pickups are placed more towards the bridge than the Chubtone I had. Did you specify that or did they change the spec that you know of?

The pickups are Jalen's take on the Seymour Duncan '78 Model, 9k alnico II
this should give you a good idea what they sound like..

the 78 and the pickup i used for years prior, the original pearly gates, always gave me a single coil on the verge of humbucker type vibe.
there was all that talk about eddie’s pickup being broken or having a dead coil…

your pickup sounds stratty, yet nice and clear in the PAF way like my holmes, but with a hotter bite!
