25-27" with the parallel at 0 due to the locking nut. I have 4 or 5 other 8 string multiscales with 26.5-28 and 27-30, so this one will likely be tuned E to E with three Es (as long as the treble strings play nice with the trem) given it's a bit more manageable with the "shorter scale" and they others are all tuned down already.Looks awesome! What's the scale length with the fanned fret?
Don't quote me on the exact scale, that's just Dean's marketing specs as I've come to find they're all a little different than advertised once I check intonation. It's probably going to end up like 25.2- 27.5 or something like that. I also have a 24-25" 7 actually tuned "up" E to A. I've come to learn what works best (scale length vs string count vs parallel fret location) for each application. The scale length and frets fanning from 0 on this one lend it to be better for standard to a full step down and good for sweeping/arpeggios, but not so much for chords. I've found the best for versatility are 25-27s on 7 strings and 26-28s for 8 strings with the parallel aiming towards 7-9 for stand up playing and 9-12 for sitting for best ergos.
Sorry, I like to rant.
