So, can we hear it?

Yes, it's been a helluva week, but will have time this weekend. Tomorrow (Saturday) hopefully, but perhaps Sunday.

Really itching to play one of these. I love the revamped tone. It’s the same amp but doesn’t sound dated plus has all of the creature comforts a modern amplifier should have.

Congrats on the NAD! It’s a killer amplifier from what I have seen and I’m sure at band volume it sounds simply glorious!

Try setting the bass lower and adding some depth, gives it a little more push in the low mids.

Congrats! I played one probably 15+ years ago and loved it. It’s an amp I’ve always wanted to own. The loop thing on the old ones always hindered me from pulling the trigger. One day hopefully I’ll grab one.

Congrats.
I‘ve got mine yesterday.
Peter Arends did a great job, improved all what needed to be improved IMO.
And sounds different to my HR100+.

I have a Marshall T.V. 4X12 that comes stock with Heritage Greens.
The SLO seems to gel more with 2 Scumback loaded cabs.( I have 8 4x12's)
One Cab has Jim's M75/ 65 watters and the other has H75/ 65 watters.

It really didn't seem to like the Bogner Helios cabs.
Maybe the V30's on the bottom are not pleasing with this amp.

Maybe I can pummel the shit out of the T.V. cab.
It cant have 10 hours on it.

But, I'm really liking Racerxrated's treble at zero and run the Presence high.
On 10 its the sweet spot to my ears.
10 to 11 it gets really bright. I have run the Presence under 4 and the Treble at 7.
But I like Racer XXX Rated's EQ. Beer's on me if you ever get to CLE Land

Straightjacket,
You will notice how subtle the EQ is with this amp. Little movements alter the tone a lot.
There is no wrong way to set it except for at higher volumes you don't need the Depth ( I keep Bass at 5 to 7 and Depth below 1)

I think the presence might have been just short of maxed; it's been a few yrs. But through 65s and slightly boosted, that was the eq setting for me.

Yep the wafer 5881s were the best to my ears..over Winged C, KT66, and even the Sylvania 6L6GC. Tried em all. Lol
SLOs are great amps. Now the GAS starts for the new version. Ugh.

Those 5881's are a very dark tube to my ears. The SLO is kinda bright, so it helps out.

The difference wasn't bright v dark when I tube rolled. The amp became more '3D' if you will. Just an overall better tone. Kinda like the difference with a Mesa Mark IIC+ when you use any 6L6 vs the Sylvanias. The EQ remained the same too..if it did darken the amp a bit I didn't notice.

Congrats.
Look forward to a comparison with the Helios Eclipse- an amp I love

I have em both. Not much to compare as they are two different beast.
Eclipse is way more Marshall flavor. Cutting and edgy, and it has the switching to change Gain and feel.
In my opinion the Bogner has a more pleasant clean channel .

Soldano has a lot of EQ shaping. Small moves can make a pretty big change in the tone.
Plus it just gets bigger and fatter the louder it gets. This does not mean that you cant get the feel at lower volumes.
That is where the depth comes into play. Fatten it up without ear bleed volumes.

The SLO is big time quiet at any gain setting and volume.
Eclipse is not. Especially in channel 3 Eclipse plus mode.

I always felt that gain is subjective to the ear of the player so I cant give you a "wow ,this amp or that amp
has gain out the ass" comparison

Go get your bank card and grab a SLO. You wont be disappointed

Nice! I'd love to try an SLO. Unfortunately they are impossible to find down here.

Finally got it done. Took me all damn night to put this together for 5 minutes of playing...

Now THATS a damn fine representation of the SLO.
Like the way you were tweaking the EQ.

Well done man

Damn it responds so great to stuff in the updated loop. I’m shocked.
