Anyone have can full of speakers that “shouldn’t” be together according to the masses? My tastes change from week to week, but I’ve been plugging into the cab below most of the time lately.

I had an Avatar 212 with a G12H30 and Classic Lead 80

I have a cab with 2 Greenbacks and 2 Eminence Swamp Thangs that admittedly doesn't sound terribly well balanced, however its extremely fun to play through for a different sound. Its extremely "brittle" sounding but in a very fun/cool way

Don't know how non-traditional this mix is, but two Chinese GB RI's mixed with two UK.

Surprisingly, the Chinese sound way darker.

My friend just had a cab with 2 creamback 75s, an 80s g12-65 and an 80s g12-80 and it sounded great

Mixing various Celestions I wouldn't consider non-traditional or unique. For me, so far some non-traditional mixes that worked very well have been JBL's (D120F's or E120's) mixed with 20w GB's like EVH did, '60's Alnico Blues top row/Fane Crescendo's bottom row and soon I'll try some combos with my Altec 417C's

I'd recommend more guys get outta there box and try incorporating other vintage speakers besides just Celestion's. Celestion's IME have the best midrange, while JBL's and Fane Crescendo's are much stronger in the low end and high end, so the right mix can result in a very complete sound
