$650 is nothing when it comes to finding out for yourself whether you like or no like. Hell, I'd pay for BOTH the cabs offered (the above one AND the white one), get both, A/B them and then sell the one you don't want.

Recent business practices aside, Mills have been a fantastic cab maker - and there's no need to get all sketched out about the used Mills market - just buy it and try it. Will certainly be worth the $650 in cabbage if it ends up being all that and then some.

Buy both - try 'em - dump one.

Peace,
Mo
This.

I really don't understand why people bring up the recent company troubles when people ask about buying from the used market.

I agree. I'll add them and DAR to the list of people not to buy things new from, but in this case I'm not giving any money to mills. I'll be checking out the cab this week, hopefully it works out because my current cab sucks balls

I love my Mills cabs (own 2 of them), but they are boat anchors. I wouldn't pay $600 for a used one. Too hard to move. I'd offer the guy $500 for a white slant - and even then you risk losing $ trying to move it because 1) it's a slant, 2) its white and 3) it's too damn big to ship - so you gotta find a local to sell it to. Realistically, there isn't a whole lot of demand for 412s on the used market.

I had a Mills/Mark V set up at one point and it sounded great.

Guitar Center in Southfield, Michigan has two used Mills cabs on the cheap if anybody's interested.

LOL those were mine.

I was up to Five 4x12s and I needed to sell a couple. They are both in great shape, sound fantastic, and come with the Mills leatherette covers.

Not what I wanted to hear. Reminds me I was wanting to switch to 2x12's just for that reason.

Damn. I was looking into these cabs as well even though I love my Mesa slant/straight baffle cab.

V30s.

I played through one of these cabs yesterday, and I don't know what you guys are talking about. At least for high gain, thing sounded AMAZING. prob going to pick one up this week. Interesting side note about current state of Mills, guy who owned the cab knows the Mills guy, said the he apparently wasn't making any money from the business and had to take a full time job, and is making the cabs in the side now, hence the wait. Said he was a really good guy, but was having trouble feeding his family with the cabinet business. Total hearsay, take with a large grain of salt.

Someone mentioned that resale in slants was harder to get. Are slants really less desirable in the market/as a player? I always thought it was great to have two of the speakers aimed more at my head so I could hear the damn thing.

Mills acoustics slant or Diezel straight for teh heavies?

Cheers

Either will be good. Try to find each to play through. Which Diezel cab, though? There are different revisions out there (front loaded, rear loaded, etc.).

I played the mills and it sounds great. It's going to be tough to play the Diezel because it's far out in the burbs. Not sure, guy with the Diezel didn't seem to know much about it. Struck me as someone who bought a Tom of expensive shit because someone said that was what he was supposed to get.

I've owned just about every 4x12 out there (including Diezel, Engl, Engl Pro XXL, Boogie recto, Bad Cat, Marshall, Egnater, Peavey, ad infinitum). I think the Mills sound the best.

But definitely try out the Diezel with your amp and see what sounds the best with your gear.

What about Orange 4x12's?, or an UberKab? Those are my favorite 4x12's.
