Allright....where did you guys find these Anderson 7 strings?!?!?!

Tom only does very limited runs of them every once in a while. Not sure when he is going to do another one. Best thing to do is contact Roy at Anderson.
Yeah I thought he had discontinued them all together. THats cool if he does some runs of them. Know any good dealers?

Everyone has some killer shit! Very cool.

What's everyone's pickup of choice for the 7?

I am pretty much stuck on BKPs for all of my guitars. I have a Painkiler/Cold Sweat set in the Jekyll now which I dig a lot. Had a Warpig set in there before and I also liked it. In the ESP I have a SD Distortion/59 set which also sounds great. I find ceramic bridge pickups to be the best for retaining a tight low B.

Love that thing. My BRJ that I have coming is similar, no trem though.

That one at Guitar Asylum is killer but the middle pickup kills it for me. Can not stand middle pickups.

A buddy of mine bought a couple high end guitars from GA and he told me it was a nightmare dealing with them. I have never dealt with them though. :dunno:

i picked up my first 7 about 8 years ago and i love em. been going strong ever since.

Yeah middle pickups are not very cool for me either. i kinda like that swampash one, but that color is hideous! The red/ black is pretty cool, but not a fan of alder. Maybe with these its ok?

Another BKP guy here

Painkillers in the green all limba guitar
Cold Sweat neck / Nailbomb bridge in the blue guitar that's maple w/mahogany wings
Mules in exotic wood on order that's rosewood/ebony neck w/black limba wings and a bubinga top
Holydivers in the on order alder body / maple neck bolt on PMC

the exceptions are the set of Benedettos going in the limba body / koa top / palisander neck semihollow DCii-7 on order

I've also got a set of Aldrich pups in my DCii-6 that's mahogany set neck and mahogany body with an ebony board that I like a lot

I have this "friend" who works at an Anderson dealer, alas the boss, I mean his boss is worried about stocking them so he can only special order them.... BUT they can either be ordered from Anderson right now or very soon... I, er um... "He" has a build/quote sheet somewhere, call Roy and he can get you one and any dealer can get what you want, except the ebony fretboard I want :)

I was a dealer for about 4 years and enjoyed working with Roy when I ordered all my guitars for the store. It was a lot of fun, I just built the guitars that I thought were cool. We did well with them and sold quite a few. IMO, they are the best boutique guitars out there, hands down.

Got a chance to catch up with Roy this year at NAMM. It was great seeing him again, he is one of the good guys.

This one is mine, I bought it a couple of months ago. My first 7 string, which is now my main go to axe! Its carved out of a solid piece of mahogany, no joints or anything just one piece. Fretwork and craftsmanship is unreal, I was so impressed that I have a special build 7 string multiscale on order right now, and am thinking about a third.

Rob from KxK is awesome, replied quick to my emails and is very serious about his craft. Can't say enough about his guitars!

I really should take some pics of mine.....

Right now the only 7 I have is an Ibanez K-7FB with a D Activator in the bridge tuned to A (love this guitar to death). Once upon a time I had one of the original Ibanez UV7's (Green Dot) and a ESP SC607B (natural finish). Loved and miss my UV7 (should never have sold it), and the SC607B was a pretty sweet guitar but I just couldn't mesh with the TOM bridge and that damn middle pickup.

Right now I'm clearing out some gear and possibly my RG2228 to get the new Ibanez APEX100TFB. Would also love to get the RGD2127Z (tried one and it is phenominal!) and hopefully either another UV7 Green dot or a PWH.

***This a drama-free post***

So I recently changed pups in my BRJ from a Warpig set to a Painkiller/Cold Sweat combo. At first I thought I had made a huge mistake and wanted to get the Warpigs back. Then I thought I just needed to get used to the new pups and not have such a fast reaction. Anyway, after playing with them for the last week and a half I dig them a lot. It really came down to adjusting the height on the pups. Once I got it right, they came to life. Now the low B is super tight (on the PK) and crushing while the plain strings have nice snap and articulation to them. The Cold Sweat is much more liquid and each note has those pleasing overtones that a good neck pickup has.
