People with multiple EQ pedals: why don't you just buy gear that sounds good?

Sometimes when the woodstove is too hot you gotta open the windows!

It's gotten bad enough that I can't tell whether some people are joking or not

We had a show a month or so ago, the opening band guitarist was one of those guys - he had 3 GE7s and an MXR 10 band with his mark V (which obviously has a GEQ already)

it looked like he had one of the GE7s and the 10 band in the loop for whatever, and then one GE7 before a boss DS1 and one after the DS1

I've honestly never heard someone make a mark sound worse. He also had 3 (!) boss NS2s at various points in his rig, obviously to try and corral the noise added by the 46 EQ pedals

It's worth a chuckle but if you tried to be helpful you'd just be hated for saying anything. Makes it easier to sound pro when other guys ain't!
