Or if on a budget Sovtek LPS. IMO, in a MV amp it makes less of a difference. And I use the LPS in my Superlead which pummels the PI tube and creates a lot of the distortion there.

I swear to god any modded or boosted stock Marshall & Marshall type amp absolutely smokes anything Mesa Boogie has ever released imo.

modded marshalls are the best...i greatly enjoy boogie chugs but marshall is where its at for me too

Except for what John Sykes can do with Boogies. But he's a heavy Marshall guy too. These are Arrendondo Marshalls.
Ive had many Boogies and they just seem to lack that upper register complex Marshall mids.
You can add or subtract that w/a EQ and whatnot but its just not the same.
Love me some Sykes.
