...Was just reading up on the Afwayu (thanks for the tip, guys) and it's 16k w/an A5? So would it be kinda similar to Duncan Custom 5? JB? Anybody tried either/both/all? If Cantrell is using the Afwayu now, betting perhaps it's closer to a JB...
Interested, because while I'm curious about MCPs now, not digging what I hear about C5s...
I mentioned I want to get into magnet swaps, and I actually have a couple of A5s floating around (won them in a raffle...lol), and a Custom and CC in my two main Strats w/humbuckers I could convert, but that's how disinterested I am in trying C5s!

But if the Afwayu is like a JB with a better mid-structure?

I'm hell excited to see how it sounds.

My jaw dropped when I heard it ripping thru my Diezel.
I have been a total EMG user for the past 10 years.....and this pickup sounded like a mix of Lynch with a hint of Slayer. Fucking great!
Had such a GROWL ........hard to describe. But I owned the Screamin Demon several times.....and this Aldrich CRUSHED that pickup!

Thanks! Looking forward to your opinion an Dallas' too. I have a few sets of Afwayus coming in about a week or two that are slightly tweaked to Jerry Cantrells specs by Wade. Same as the ones he wound for Jerry. I have no idea what the difference is, but we'll see soon.

You should invest a little time in Lugo's epic pup shootout, its a great resource for comparing a lot of the pups your interested in. All of them properly recorded. Great stuff. I ended up liking several that I would not have guessed I would like at all from some of the descriptions I had heard...................................................... And now, the big question is.... did you punt the BBE yet?

I am thinking on it or other possibilities
I have tons of those Posi-lock connecters some one previously posted along with Delphi Weather pack connectors,ect,ect, but I have only used them for auto's..
I still kinda prefer a solder connection on music stuff though.. Dunno if it is just cork sniffing or not though..

pulled out the positwist connectors I have. They are the blue ones. I would suggest getting the grey if going this route. The blue work but are a bit on the large side for this application. The grey are the next size down and should be a better fit for this.

guess it depends on what you're going for. I have no problem soldering but what I'm going for is being able to swap out pups quickly and easily while still having a reliable connection. That means if I don't have to solder or crimp or anything like that all the better.

I think I am sold on the Aldrich though....that GROWL was just too much today!!

For metal? MCP Solution or BKP Warpig A5. Done. Seriously.

I wonder how that Warpig A5 compares to My MCP Nuke A5?

I will let you know soon. I do not like the Solution in my Jackson Dinky's. I have a Nuke in my Gold Top dinky and it is huge. I decided to try a War Pig in my Pile-o-Skulls and I should have it soon. I also am going to try a ceramic Nailbomb in my Gutierrez Juggernaut. I should have them soon.The Hell-Baby sounds great in my Adrian Smith Jackson.

I too was a huge EMG fan. I have been slowly removing them from all of my guitars. I will leave 3 with EMG's (for now). The MCP stuff sounds killer. The Solution is very tight in comparison to the EMG 85 (which was my all time favorite pickup). It also has more snarl. Sounds great in my LP's.

I currently installed an Aldrich in my guitar too! I went through a few pickups including EMG 85/81's that didn't measure up to the Duncan SH-6 that I took out. Im happy with the Suhr Aldrich right now!
Still...I lust after the BG PUPS HELLARAIL!!!! I've not heard one impressive clip from a Bareknuckle Pickup!!!
