That's exactly what I'm afraid of...  I mean c'mon - look what happened when I tried Big-Blocking Floyds! I'm afraid I'm gonna wanna buy 5 or 6 of the Afwayu or whatever if I like it to...LOL!

But you're right, I kinda owe it to myself to try one...

30 years... I kid, i really don't know, what i do know is the information that was previously up there was incorrect in many places after talking to Wade a bunch of times.

His site has been pretty lame for the last few years so Im hoping it being down means a new informative site, his pickups deserve it.

the best way to choose his pickups is to talk to him and tell him what you have, what youre using and what youre looking for, his recommendations are usually spot on.

funny you mention this I have my girlfriend who makes jewelery looking for tiny sterling silver screw together jewelery clasps that have ring ends to solder wires to for exactly this reason.

like in the pic below only sterling silver.

Good thread. I have been looking at some various pickups to...from Suhr, BKP and MotorCity. Though I have not found any guitars with any of these in them, I guess I'll end up purchasing them without trying them. I will say though, since you have a VH4s, I do remember some people saying a certain pickup sounds awful through a VH4, might of been a Warpig, but I am not positive about it.

I am afraid with some of the BKP that I am looking at as being to much of a one trick pony, but also don't want to step down to the lower output pickups either. Either way, I have heard nothing but great things about the Aldrich pups and I don't think anyone can go wrong with anything mentioned in this thread.

I only played 2 guitars thru it. My Jackson that has the EMG's and that Suhr with the Aldrich pickup. It sounds good with the EMG'S.....it sounded AWESOME with the Aldrich!!
Got my Motorcity in the mail today and will be hooking it up this weekend!

Got my holydiver set in the other day. Theyre alot lower gain then I thought they would be. They clean up soo good. Theyre great for a guitar that needs to be "well mannered" with a slight edge.

Time to learn how to solder :D

You might want to look into these for connecting pickups:

Different sizes for different wire gauges. I bought a pack for a partocaster I'm putting together. Haven't gotten to the wiring yet (maybe today). They look promising.

I have the Aldrich set being installed in my Ibanez PGM301 right now.
I'm hell excited to see how it sounds.

Man........dont know what kinda music you play but If you like rock/metal you will love it!
My jaw dropped when I heard it ripping thru my Diezel.
I have been a total EMG user for the past 10 years.....and this pickup sounded like a mix of Lynch with a hint of Slayer. Fucking great!
Had such a GROWL ........hard to describe. But I owned the Screamin Demon several times.....and this Aldrich CRUSHED that pickup!

Congrats on the score!

Dan

Bare Knuckle addict here.
Nail Bomb is the best 80's-90's hair metal pickup ever. I cannot live without this 'bucker.
Probably just a little too loose and harmonic for serious down-tuned and baritone metal.

Growl is good!
I also owned the Screamin Demon in an Edwards LP and it had a real nice growl to it and a percussive attack.
I regret selling that guitar!!!
If the Aldrich crushes the SD, then I'm pretty sure I'm going to be a very happy camper.
I play instrumental rock/metal but also play in a praise and worship team.
So versatility is important as well.
Cheers Dan. :)
