Pool Day

So... A few random thoughts.
1) Summer is winding down. Fast. I live for summer, so, sad. The pool is scheduled to be closed on 9/9. We're going to sell this place next year, so one more pool summer (after 38 years) before that adventure is over. Also, a bit sad
2) One more weekend (Labor Day weekend) to enjoy the pool. Today and tomorrow are perfect. Hoping next weekend is, too
3) I'm contemplating a major life decision (whether or not to accept a voluntary retirement plan offer). Leaning towards yes. Must make a declaration by 5:00 ET on Monday. Finance guy says we're good, even if we don't include SS and the minimal pension moneys I'll receive. That's at least reassuring. It's a little more than 2 years sooner than I planned, but the job has changed and, after 46 consecutive years, I really want to call it...
4) My wife and her BFF (aka the "Pool Bitches" - their label not mine :)) are floating around the pool. Life is good
5) The BFF has a pierced clit hood (she offered that information. I have no first-hand knowledge). But with the wet, skimpy bikini, it's clear that the jewelry is installed. Hard to concentrate. Use your imagination. Any "pics or it didn't happen" response will be ignored. Would I like to take a pic? Sure. I'm not a stupid man

I'm biased against pools since I cleaned them as part of a couple different jobs plus one at the house I was living at for about 12 or 13 years. Just maintenance and money.

We don’t “vacation” much and hang by the pool with friends. It’s how we relax. Are chemicals and the electricity needed to run it pricey? It can be. I have a robotic pool sweeper and I’ve been doing this a long damn time. There’s a bit of work and maintenance, but it’s a 20,000 gallon pool. It’s not commercial. A bit of effort here and there is all it takes 🤷

At one point I was taking care of 3 or 4 pools a day, sometimes for up to 40 days back to back, so my perspective is a little different.

Is this the last pool in the world.

We had a kidney shaped built in at the last house. It magically turned green the night before a party. Never failed.

The continuas maintenance became a 2nd job.

I swore after that no more pools

I love having a pool . We only get to use it for about 4-5months evey year but those 4-5 months are an endless pool party at my house.
I retired last December and I do not miss work for a minute. with the same company for 24 years, if you can handle it financially do it. You never know when your time could be up.

To quote a redneck at a gas station in north Florida when my brother moved down "FLaaariDuhsh got code wetherr juscht like eny uther schtate"
It does get chilly

We were in Disney December 2024.
A few evenings got in the low 40s.
Well thats hoodie weather for my yankeee ass
I was out by the pool smoke cigars and shooting bourbon taking it easy

The locals were shivering asking me if i was cold. I said cold no. A bit chilly yes.
What strange looks i got

Central FL is pretty much like that for around a month or two at some point and sometimes interspersed warm days cold days but still we enjoyed many 75-80 degree Christmases. Central TX is similar except the winters have the potential to be much more severe and usually a week or two where it might freeze. It aggressively thunderstormed and hailed outta the east here last night after a 100+ degree day. In true TX style my water service went down with it.

Get a magnet and go Hoe fishing

Some people love a hot pool. *Shrug*
Have a neighbor down the street that LOVES a hot pool.. I mean HOT..
Got invited over one time and it was blazing hot out. Jump in to be refreshed and it was like going from the frying pan right to the depths of hell.
They purposely keep it and like 92 degrees. Not refreshing at all.
Felt like I was gonna have a heat stroke.

I feel as though this is a thinly veiled golden shower post...

I don’t have a heater, because I’m too cheap to pay for the hardware and the gas bill, but I love a warm pool. It was a rare, hot summer years ago, but the pool got to 104 with just a solar blanket. The women folk STRONGLY voiced their opposition 😀
