Back in high school a bunch of us went to see the Purple Rain tour in St Paul. My home state, born in St Paul and as a 17 yr old headbanger, at first I was reluctant to go. But gave in..had like 4 cars loaded with hs classmates.. It really was a great show. And Sheila E was nice to look at too! Reading up on him a bit today, never realized how much of a musicians/artist advocate he was. He never took ownership of publishing rights of artists he produced/sponsored. Pretty cool.

Heartbroken.. Prince has always been one of my absolute favorites.
So glad I've been able to see him live a number of times. Most recently just about a month ago.
RIP Prince... You will be sorely missed.

Growing up here in MN, Prince was always around. We kind of took him for granted. My brother used to do some work for him and he said he was always very nice. There's tons of stories from people who knew him and how nice and generous he was.

Such a great talent and man could he wail on guitar! He will be missed.
