I liked the wide-thin on the custom 24 SE quite a bit. Not sure if that counts as a D shape. None of the letters manufacturers use seem to make a damn bit of sense at the end of the day.
Hnnnnnggggggg. Especially when I was with the Jazz Ensemble performing all around...... damn do I miss my sweet Ibanez Hollowbody - though the new owner said it was literally their dream guitar - so at least there is that consolation.Good luck on your search. I already have my dream guitar.
I was actually looking at PRS' recently and thought about hitting GC to try a couple. But since I am a sucker for ES' and F-holes I came across this last night:
Seventy-Seven Exrubato CTM-A, the full Japan edition.

I have found that if the neck is a rounded C carve, I like em thicker, easier for me to shred.PRS makes great guitars. They may not be for everyone, but I'm sure they will be excellent guitars. I wouldn't mind trying one someday.
I like the PRS wide thin, but I also like the thinner Ibanez/Jackson necks too. As well as my Suhr standard carve. Maybe I'm not that picky lol. I just can't hang with big fat necks.
Reminds me of Serenghetti Guitars. They created this body shape 20 years ago. It looks like PRS merely rounded the horns off and brought in the top bevel carve just a bit, and made it a bolt on neck. There's a few slight differences, but it looks like they drew a lot of inspiration from the aforementioned brand. Serenghetti Guitars are one piece guitars that are hand carved to order from one single slab of wood by a master luthier out of Florida. Big difference there. But Serenghetti is the OG of this shape.
Unless you're pretending that driskell, esp, and 100 others didn't do it before serenghetti, then I mean have at it i guess
When I was in Chicago in September one of the younger guys showed up to the Rosa's Lounge jam with an Ibanez George Benson model. He played it pretty clean. Dude sounded so damn good with that axe. Topped it off with a great singing voice too.Hnnnnnggggggg. Especially when I was with the Jazz Ensemble performing all around...... damn do I miss my sweet Ibanez Hollowbody - though the new owner said it was literally their dream guitar - so at least there is that consolation.
Yeah it doesn’t look a thing like the Serengheti guitars. It looks like a PRS that somebody photoshopped to look asymmetrical.
It's also done for tonal reasons, as well as for maintenance and practicality. If you break it you can replace it, etc.
Also TA does a V-shaped neck pocked with a flattened groove their necks sit back into. Tom once rigged up one of his guitars to be suspended sideways by the body and did pullups on the neck. Done the right way, they're incredibly strong and can sound great.
