So....is adjusting the velocity of the kick drum triggers to impart even the tinyest bit of feel into the music now considered an old school, boomer thing?

Was this a joke? All these bands are getting so LAZY with the songs they write. They think they're being so clever in their song writing and IT JUST SUCKS. On a side note, they should fire their keyboard player and this theater kid singer.

I actually like Periphery but you actually may be on to something here Dan LOL! I kinda agree with this.
And I'm sorry but what is the fucking appeal of that god awful squawky clanky bass tone that these djent band dudes use? Not only is it played out but it sounds silly.

Agreed. Might as well go full "hard gay" if you're into the butt stuff.
Personally the dated Kirkland Signature® Sneap Production, meandering song structures, and FuTuRisTiC (and therefore anachronistic) sense of melody are just as big of problems as the singer though

Is having an overpowering bass the thing now?… Seems like every mix I hear these days the bass is way too crazy..
I do like the electronics in that first song. I’m super @thegame for an eerie synth..
