So I’m pretty set with my 3 Blankenship amps and 6505MH, but was really wanting another plexi style amp to play with, maybe some mods. So I got this Ceriatone 1987. It did take 8 months to get due to Covid. Looking forward to cranking this puppy!!
edit - just jammed on this with my Ultimate Attenuator and Boss sd-1. sounds killer. dang I dont think I’ll be doing anything to this but playing it lol

God they do such clean work. I never really appreciated how hard it is until I did my first couple builds. My work has gotten much much cleaner but Im still nowhere near them

I hear you man. I did a couple builds, it’s like art trying get stuff to look good lol

The quality of work you get at the price you get it and in 8 months turnaround in the middle of a pandemic is impressive. I’ve got nothing bad to say about ceriatone - they are great ?

Congrats! Price n Quality hard to beat..I did have a bad experience with one of their transformers 10 years ago; but shit happens.

Ceriatone work is indeed impressive. If you ever get the itch for more gain, the 'one wire mod' and PPIMV can do quite a lot for not a lot of coin - essentially turns it into a 2203 by cascading the gain stages. YMMV

I would love to try a hot mod in one of these. I also did a PPIMV on my last plexi build using Nik's layout that turned out really well.

It really peeves me when I read people talking smack about Ceriatone just because they're an import from Asia.
Their work is as good as anyone and they couldn't be easier to work with if they were right down the street!

CONGRATS!!!!!

I have owned that amp from them and it is great. I saw a country guy recently wailing one out at a party. It was killer

Agreed. I see a lot of people quoting posts from years back about their transformers like it was everyone who bought an amp and like it was a recent issue. I've actually bought their transformers for home brew builds to great success. As with any transformer there are differences in tone but they have made them huge af. I've have bought a 2204, a molecular, and a Leviathan and all of them were fantastic.

People are starting to change their tune on them but damn if they were a U.S. company people would be gushing over them. Also it kills me hearing someone talk shit about their Gargoyle like the Meshuggah was some revaloutionary all original design. And the Molecular is just an amp inspired by a Cameron that you can actually get instead of an amp that you send your money off for and have a 99% chance of getting ripped off.

If you are a U.S. company you can rip Jose off or make amps based on his ideas and its ok but if you are from another country especially asian its IP theft. Also Nik doesn't pretend that these designs are some age old secret. He has helped me with builds where I just used his layout but none of his components. How many guys would do that?

I’m not a fanboy but I’m glad someone is making those style of amps.... I can’t afford $30k plus for a Real “Jose”

That is gorgeous. Congrats man. I almost went with a ceriatone several times. Nik was always quick to answer my questions.
