Reverb good, market bad

I like reverb a lot. As a seller and a buyer. I've sold more there than here.
 
I have had a bit of success on reverb selling 5 items. There is a broader musician market on reverb. Selling on here is harder than ever. But overall it's hard to sell anywhere without giving it away. With Reverb, everyone and their uncle is trying to sell shit they don't want.
 
i love reverb i don't even think about selling or buying on ebay and honestly i think im pretty much done with both on rig talk,
 
I agree.. Reverb itself is pretty good. Fees are reasonable, but yes the market is abysmal. Sellers low-ball. Buyers want full retail price. It sucks.
 
I haven't had a problem. Sold a few Suhrs on there. Fees are much lower than EBAY. Just have to deal with the low balling fools who don't think $2800 for a dead mint fiddle that SELLS new for $3800 is a good deal. Too many people think they're gonna get it for half what it's listed for.

how could it possibly be a scam if they held the item until the cashiers check/money order cleared at the bank??
 
I have lots of sales on ebay past, occasionally will do it for no guitar items - still good for items that need a very wide audience to sell - just high cost.

I've been with Reverb since the beginning - great customer service, was very slow at the beginning but now if you are priced right things sell, lots of low ballers like everywhere else in the world, I like to have fun with them but you have the ability to set the low bid you will even see so it's really very good.

Most people want as much as they can get and think a few hundred off a few thousand dollar retail item should move. Cost on goods is about half the new price so those that are unrealistic are really just starting or keeping a collection and they can tell there spouse "look honey I have it for sale, just nobody is buying"

Also guys now that are into this stuff have never had such a wide selection of really high quality goods from so many sources to buy from. I think lots of people like me in my 50's are selling off gear while prices are good and buying less but exactly what you want and the pool of people that are into this guitar amp world is getting smaller. Lots of old guys at NAMM.

i used Reverb a few times recently and it went fine.. less fees than ebay

Honestly, that's not a great deal.

Music stores look at selling used gear for about 1/2 the price of MAP. They try to get more, but they'll settle selling gear in great condition for 1/2 of MAP. Private sales tend to be lower priced than at music stores. You do the math.

There are always exceptions, and if it's gear that is regularly sold out/backordered, then different used pricing rules certainly apply.
 
Same here. I've had nothing but great results on reverb.

Okay, one exception. The user said the rack unit he bought from me was making humming noise. But when he returned it, I verified that it was fine. So one issue out of many
 
Love Reverb! Sure there are a lot of over priced sellers, but when I sell at a reasonable price, stuff goes pretty fast! Paypal takes 3.5%, and with eBay's 10% fee, you are looking at a 13% hit when you sell. At least with Reverb, it's cut in half.
