To my ears, the bad boy wins with the plexi coming in 2nd. I guess it really is a bad boy.

Idk if it was the badboy at the bottom of the rack, but I prefer the lower 800 in this comparison. It’s a bit throatier. Sounds like maybe 6550s instead of EL34s the difference is pretty subtle.

"Bad-Boy" is the one in the middle. Sounds a bit cleaner.

Interesting. Yea the “Little Brother” wins comparison for me. Mostly what Im hearing between these amps is different degrees if sculpt and levels of saturation. The modded Plex and Snork clearly have much more saturation and high end roll off. The stock 800s are comparatively scooped and more raw sounding. I don’t really understand the point in heavily modding a stock Marshall in this day and age. The more open top end is something particular to Marshalls. But today we have access to Bogners, Diezels, Friedmans and so on. To each their own.
