I only listened to it once and I do not think it is good at all!!! If I was to rate it, I would give it a 2/5 and I am being generous!!

Make sure you go into every VH thread you can find and post your opinion, I think it's a very important thing to do so. Get the word out.

So, no one can give their opinion on this thread? I did not create this thread!!!
No but what you are doing is going into every thread about this album and pissing on the parades of people that are getting enjoyment out of what the band is giving us right now. We get it,you don't care for it.

Get your ears checked bro

I think he's right. Bro.

Perhaps if DLR could still sing and EVH played more than the 10 recycled licks he knows, it would have been a better disk. Oh yeah, and add MA back in.

EDIT

Wow, look at the complete pile-on because the guy doesn't like the new VH. Is this RT or HCAF? Granted his "review" wasn't very intellectual, but still.

Gee thanks, feel free to write your own

Shame they did not really create anything new. At least with Hagar, he had enough talent to actually create new material instead of putting modified lyrics on 35 year old reworked leftover music. Don't have it out for DLR, but his weakness is his voice and his lyrics, always has been. Hagar is a professional, DLR is a clown with a mic.

You mean amazing Hagar lyrics such as "Only time will tell if we stand the test of time" or "I got a line, you got a pole I'll meet you down at the ole fishing hole"? and how about the song "Source Of Infection" he seems to forget to sing!

Tattoo is something that I initially hated, but it's now grown on me. Some of the other tuners RIP (Outta Space, Big River, Bullethead) and some of them are ones I'm trying to warm up to (Chinatown, Stay Frosty).

I don't understand comments like this. Whether you like his timbre or not, DLR's studio tracks aren't something that should be scoffed at nor are those vocals easy to pull off. There range there that isn't quite apparent at the surface mostly because Roth wasn't using a head voice or falsetto to reach pitch. Not only that, his melodies were quite memorable as well. VH wouldn't have been VH without Dave's vocals. Eddie's guitar playing was out of this world at the time but it wasn't enough to sustain the band for that many years.

ok so far it's 50/50

Just want to check, the guys who don't like it do you like old VH or do you prefer the Hagar era?
I don't think it's going to come down to Dave vs Sammy. I think it's going to down to the guys that listened to Eddie for weedly weedly vs the guys that listened to Eddie for his writing abilities and the uniqueness he brings to the table.

I'd take DLR's lyrics of most of Hagar's bland stuff any day. I like both incarnations of VH, but at least with DLR lyrics, I'm going to get swagger, a chuckle or at the very least a big WTF?

I don't necessarily mean Dave Vs Sammy I just want to get an idea of which era of music we are talking about and that is the easiest way to differentiate

As I see it, Ed did a great job of combining both. Especially in the Dave days...Not that he didnt pen some great tunes with Sammy.

There aren't a whole lot of Sammy guys around these parts. I can say most around here that are not getting into it lean towards DLR era from mild to extreme.

I'm an all era VH guy and I love the new album. It's been a long time since I've heard something like this....and some of it I was never expecting to hear from VH.

Relax. Bro. I don't think he's right. That's MY opinion and I don't give a shit what you think.

Eddie was never a very technical player, he was a feel guy that had a lot of neat chops to deploy. The new album is dripping with spontaneity and energy in the solos, even if his lick library has shrunk. He's smoking on this cd. But it's not technique. It never really has been with Eddie.

Hey, what do you think about Honeybabysweetiedoll? I can see where it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but shit, that song is badassed. I like those odd songs like that. Pleasure Dome is easily one of my top VH tunes and this one will rank up there too. They just don't belong in this world....but I like it like that. :D

I like both Dave and Sammy. With VH though, I personally prefer the Dave era from VH1 through 1984. This new VH material, is leaving me totally cold... I am simply not diggin' it at all.

When Eddie came out, his chops and technique were pretty impressive for the time and yeah, his feel and sound definitely set him apart. I dont know about the dripping with spontaneity part but theres definitely energy. Im not the biggest fan of the tone but I think the material is strong enough for me to overlook that( nothing lots of volume cant cure  ) I also miss MA's high harmonies but overall, I really like it. I dont think that its something that will get regular playing time with me but I got tip my hat to them; This is beyond a pleasant surprise for me.

I think they were messing with us by releasing Tatoo as the first single...
