... and again.

Dead as a doornail.
Great Lent last night-this morning. Didn't get home until 4 a.m.

This place tends to fall off a cliff at about 11 central time. Buncha old dudes gotta hit the hay and go piss their jammies dreaming they found Eddie's tone.

I'm actually in bed now about to put the phone down. Just catching up on stuff here before I head to dreamland. My alarm is set for 1:30 am. I like to have a few hours in the morning to wake up and do a few things in the house before heading to work. I usually leave around 4 am. Good part is I'm heading home by 2 pm and can avoid a lot of afternoon traffic.

PS. blackout curtains are a godsend.

Wow. I haven't even gotten to my evening prayers yet. Sleep well!!!

I was a night owl my whole life 'til a few years ago.

I always wake up between 3 and 5 AM these days, whereas previously I went to bed at that time, often even-later.

Weird how it just suddenly flipped.

I'm trying to get back to the days when I stayed up until 3 or 4 and got up around 10:30 or noon. Kids ruined that. Then I bought land and built a house. That kind of ruined it too. I stayed up until 4 am sunday morning and still woke up at like 8:30.

I remember back in the 90's I'd wash dishes until 10 or 11 o clock then get a few free Sam Adams beers from my employer and walk or skateboard about six or seven miles home and play guitar until 3 or 4. Used to longboard all over. If I didn't get any free beer I would sometimes grab one of those Old English malt liquors and drink it under an overpass a couple miles from home by myself. I enjoyed the solitude.

I got good memories about them days because summer up in northern MN only lasts about 3 weeks when it's like that good Florida weather is for 9 months. 4th of July waterfront was the highlight if it didn't get rained out but you could always hit the bar where some half-decent band would be playing and it'd be nice and blue in there from the cigs. I used to play that joint and the bartender there was still the coolest bartender of all time. He must be in his late sixties now if he's even still alive. Of course the city ruined the downtown festivities by moving the fireworks and fair from the lake to some shithole field clear across town that way the cops could bust DUI's easier. Freakin' armpit city.....

The rest of summer up there is either raining or too chilly to be sleeping in a ditch someplace without getting hypothermia. If you pass out in a ditch in Texas you'll either get run over by some dude duty testing his 4x4, or someone tossing a 12 pack out the window, or get bit by a kissing bug and catch you a case of chagas disease.

The world was pretty messed up back then but man, it ain't got nothing on today.

Said bartender used to hook me up with more pitchers of beer than I could drink when we gigged. Never charged us a dime, never had to ask for it, they just arrived. Now it's "yEw gIt t00 bEErZ eEEch" or "tWenTy pURRsEnT dIsCoUnT" and I'm like persona non-grata at the bar waiting to get served on my set break.

Those couple summers was the closest I ever came to becoming an alcoholic but it never worked out, LOL. I mean, when was the last time you could even order a pitcher of beer at a bar? Man this society sucks now. Freakin' clown world out there man smh. 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡

Come to think of it we still played really damn loud for a tunnel-like 75 person club. You'd never get away with that now. I had a 100 watt plexi and a 1960ax. Most of the bands had guitarists with head-cabs or bigger combos, 45-50 watts minimum and cranked up pretty good. Bands brought lights and stacks of speakers. Nobody from the staff or crowd bitched about volume either. If you had a problem the bartender would just point at the door. I even got a bottle tossed at me one night by a guy I used to hang with. He was piss drunk though, LOL. Nobody got in trouble.

It's like the smart phones killed everything cool cause 2007 is around the time the volume complaints seemed to really step up. I guess checking your socials is more important than being social. Clown world.🤡🤡:yes:🤡🤡

I went back for a visit in 2009. Mistake on so many levels. Stopped into that club. Little 15 watt combo tan pants band, red n white checkered table cloths, no pitchers of beer, no cig machine, no smoking. And surprise, nobody there. It's almost like everything has been on a downhill run since the early 2000's. I get to play loud this weekend if it don't rain but I'm starting to suspect it's the beginning of the end. Not sure what the next move should be when that happens. Sometimes I think about hanging it up. Let them hear shitty 15 watt tom petty and steve miller covers on endless repeat while they finger f#ck their phones on facebook or instagram. Yuck.🤮🤮🤮🤮

I guess the reality is the d-bag invasion was already in progress back then. The phones just exacerbated existing problems. Lotta boomer gen got drafted and came back without their heads on straight then raised kids without their heads on straight. Nvm the crack and meth that started to proliferate in them small towns.

Then the whole Clinton era law enforcement initiative happened and you had a new jail, crime lab, and paid snitches sitting at the bar with flip phones calling in patrons who headed out to their cars. They proceeded to get pinched leaving the lot. And when that wasn't happening the cops could go cite kids for "trespassing" for skateboarding at an empty high school they tore down anyways. Maybe bust a few of them for weed meanwhile the DA is snorting coke with the judge in his chambers. Clown justice.

So the D.A falls over dead in the university parking lot on his morning jog. Autopsy shows cocaine and the judge checks into rehab. Neighbor kid had gotten in trouble. His mom was a pharmacy with legs....we were sitting in her living room smoking a joint and the new DA pops in to trade pills in exchange for dustbinning the kid's paperwork...and you wonder why I don't vote or trust authority. LOL.

@klugster this is probably the better spot to talk about old times and simple gifts rather than junking up the car audio thread, LOL.

How have times went by the wayside. I have two girls, and two boys, when I talk about years passed, the boys understand, the girls think im full of shit. Times have gone to shit, all my good high school buddies have turned out not good. It gets old explaining real world things to people, or persons, who habe never experienced, or had to live real world 🌎 stuff...
