Bet the list attracted quite a lot of clicks though. Mission accomplished, Rolling Stone magazine!

So...

No Yngwie Malmsteen
No Joe Pass
No Al Di Meola
No Allan Holdsworth

Yeah, I mean, it's not like Yngwie or Allan influenced any other players, something RS itself said was one of the criteria in judging.

Why that joke of a magazine even exists anymore is beyond me. Does anyone look at it other than for a laugh? They probably distribute to waiting rooms, because I doubt anyone BUYS them.

They just did this cause of last year's list and thr hits they got from the fiasco from Ted Nugent over Joan Jett.

Just found this...

Saw Kurt Vile on there too. I've met Kurt when he was opening for J. Mascis from Dinosaur Jr. My friend created Dinosaur Jr's freakscene.net and is friends with J and the rest (re-releases have him listed as one of 3 or 4 special thanks in the liner notes). Anyway Kurt puts on a good show but how many guitarist are sitting down to learn Kurt Vile and the Violators songs? It's not much. You could figure this list by looking at the top 100 list on ultimate guitar or something similar.

There was people I never heard of in 35 years of playing guitar. I play everything from classic rock, new wave, punk, every kind of metal and alternative.

when it comes to music, politics, and general information, Rolling Stone isn't on my list.

actually, when it comes to anything, besides comedic content, Rolling Stone isn't on my list.
Same!
I say we cancel them! :m17: :ROFLMAO:
