RT Consensus - Reasonably Priced - Good Quality Cables?

I use the D'addario American stage cables. No issues with any of them, they sound great and they are always in use when I am playing live or at home or at work.

Mogami 2524 for guitar/longer connections and 2319 for stuff within/inside the pedalboard and rack. Squareplug or Neutrik connectors. Buy the cables and connectors and solder them Yourself, You will save a big penny.

i tested exactly those 2 brands against each other (versus another 3rd which i don't recall right now). don't know the product name of the cordial i used and i's at least 10 years ago, but both yield vastly different results with the same length.
The Sommer Spirit is kind of piercing bright in a direct comparison. the cordial shifts the resonance peak quite a bit lower (so more Capacitance), therefore more mids with the setup i tested it.
Yeah, good point...I use whichever depending on what suits. The sommers are a bit brighter. Both top quality and good value IME

The Neutriks that let you color code have been a life saver for me when I hooked up all my amps to the amp switcher ....

I still use old, beer soaked cables from a couple decades of rehersals and playing shows, I am a total disaster...but they still sound good so, fuck it.

I build my own cables.
I use Mogami w3082 for speakers
And Mogami W2524 for instruments and pedals. I buy the Neutrik (NTK) Ends in straight and 90 as needed. They hold up great 0 problems. And its much cheaper than paying someone else to make your cable.
I say even if you don't make them yourself get the Mogami wire. Even if not reasonably priced.

World's Best Cables has most any combination of high-end cable + plugs already assembled for much cheeper than the OEM versions, great for lazy people like me. I've got some of theirs with Mogami and Gotham GAC-1 (Swiss) cable + Neutrik.

Probably some puke soaking also? Must give you a more road-worn toan.

D'Addario custom series speaker cables are all that I use that can deliver punishing low end.

I use planet wave cables for effects and mogami for anything connected to a guitar.

They don’t have anything listed on the site. Am I looking at the wring sire?

@griff10672 @Jakem @jimvg and best plug would be what, Amphenol? For a Mogami instrument cable and a shorter one from pedal to amp.

Instrument: Gotham GAC-1 Ultra Pro
Speaker: Van Damme "Blue Series"

PRS uses Van Damme speaker cable in their "Signature" series if you don't want to make your own. But you can get 30+ feet of Van Damme on eBay or Amazon for cheap. You can get bulk Gotham cable from Redco or have them make cables custom. Prices are reasonable.

I have personally never ordered from World's best cables. I build my cables. I Use the Neutrik ends, but I imagine the Amphenol ends are just as good. If you are not going to build them yourself, just email them with the lengths and ends you want. The big thing is to look at the jack on your amp, pedal guitar. If they are not gold plated there is no reason to get gold plated plugs. the jack and plug needs to be of the same material. mixing the materials IE gold plug into a one that is not will cause accelerated rate of corrosion leading to poor connections and degraded signal.

on another note, I use the Mogami wire due to the high quality of the shielding, and you can get a little more length out of it before you experience signal loss. I love my classic Marshall amps; they are noisy and loud. I like to step away from the amp as far as I can to truly here that Marshall goodness. Marshalls create enough noise without adding any extra into the chain and they get their best sound in my opinion with a good strong signal coming in.

cables don't have a sound, they...
:p haha
no, i am not gonna be that guy:D

I've been running Mogami cables for years and they have performed flawlessly. I usually make my own cables.

We barely gig anymore but still outdoor gigs destroy my main cable after just a couple nights. So, cables kind of end up being a cost of doing business so I’m more willing to bump up the presence knob than invest in a $180 cable that also doesn’t like gravel and concrete

Dang bro, are you jumping around on stage in freshly sharpened hockey skates or what?

Outside on some rich guy out in Chatham’s pool overlooking the Atlantic—shells mixed with concrete shredded one cable. We did a couple other outside/non real stage things this summer that were brutal on em. And of course I’m doing incredible athletic jumps and shit…of course…

Dude I did all of this research and testing and price comparing. Nothing came close to my best tronics in sound and value. Tough as a brick as well.

Did all of my instrument, fx and patch cables. Beat everything else I triednin many ways and pricing is great. I soldered it all myself though.
