At his age now, I bet he still can't drive 55.
Pretty sure the guy that played with Greg Allman solo band played Squier?People with no gigs talk a lot of shit sometimes. Sammy has done thousands of shows. Press a guy like that with a guitar and you might get your ass handed to you. Not every player rips all their licks every night and you never know what tricks someone has up their sleeves. I once went to a tryout where an older guy with a squier strat and a hot rod cleaned my clock. "no serious player would use a squier". Yeah, sure.![]()

Guy is the real deal!
Yes Sir!
He was one of the subs that the Allman Bros would use when whoever on guitar couldn't make it. Along with Jr. Mack, who on his own time is a master blues player and soul musician.
They have always had killer guitarists. They are really all great players in their own right but tbh I would rather go hear a Jr Mack blues show. I'm probably biased as a straight blues player, lol. Jr also has a band with Jaimoe the ABB drummer and they gig semi frequently doing soul and blues stuff. It's called Jaimoe's Jassz band. Jr also works with a dude named Saron Crenshaw, who IMO is also one of the very top blues players out there today. I think both him and Jr are based up there NY/NJ because they play Terra Blues in NYC all the time.Yeah I saw him with Greg solo and I swear I saw an Allman's show with him.
Trying to remember, there were some times with different guitarists in the Allmans when Id get the chance to see them.
