if the smell is horrid like horrid beyond death stink, fire and flood restoration companies have chambers they can put stuff in that gets rid of that smell

My old roommate used to eat sardines like some people do jelly beans. He had a Fender Stagemaster that he left out on a stand and would play all the time. After awhile, all the fish juice and oils got into the fretboard and you can imagine the smell. He was a real doof and our room always smelled like rotting fish.

I bought a Marshall head a couple of years ago that absolutely reeked of weed. I amazed it made it through the mail. The seller said, it had never left the studio... he didn't mention the hundreds of hours of pot smoke it had been subjected to.
