So did HC finally implode in on itself?

As much as all the high school bullshit occurs over there.......the good thing about HC is the buzz about new gear.....although gear discussions are increasingly hard to find over there....this place is way better but as it has been said it can take hours for single response to a thread/post...

Yeah those guys are definitely idiots. Ron Burgundy as well. And there are countless dickheads that just go into threads to be fucking assholes.

Little did you know...

I'm gonna step in and say I like renoir and senor snax panther forum to an extent

but SEX PANTHER, aka guitarman216 can fuck off. I think he's posted here a couple times

and Ron Burgandy posts here too (DFW XJER)

the rest of their little "clique" can go suck one as well since we're airing grievances

except Chuck. he's alright. organized two amp fests for free = good enough for me

So much stupid all in one post

not my fault guitarman216 and some of your other buddies are douchebags
GuitarMan is as cool as they come...obviously you either don't REALLY know him or you wear your feelings on your sleeves. He's a very quick witted and funny dude. He's always crackin' on me...I think it's hilarious :D

To be honest I don't REALLY know anyone from the Amp Forum these days, because it sucks so much that I rarely post there.

I can sorta see what you mean, but I just don't click on the threads that would obviously get on my nerves. Seems like a good system, and there's plenty left to enjoy. :)

That is what I do. And since I usually only go into threads that don't look stupid there is little left to find

Actually, the place has turned into a 4chan repository, which is good. There's a lot of comedy gold there (4chan), but I don't want to delve into the culture. Thus, HCAF has been a blessing in disguise.

What's wrong with Guitarman? He's a killer player, and really is just messing around with the n00bs of HCAF. Did he pee in your Wheaties or something?

Damn you and your Edwards. I've been pricing them out recently after that LP thread on HC. :D

DO IT.

I can't think of a better $ to quality ratio out there in an LP style guitar.

Keep an eye out on ebay man, they can be easily had for $600-700 shipped in a case. :rawk:  :m17:

K-Biz, that is sexy as hell.

What's up with the yellow binding/white binding, though? Does it really stand out like that in person?

Not like it matters much if it sounds/plays great...

That is a good point. HCAF is definitely good for the LOLs

This isn't the first time I've seen that forum down, though last time was the great post-count deletion, and there was plenty of warning the forum would be down.

It's probably a good thing for some people to get a break from there, definitely including me. :D

I've always liked this forum and lurk sometimes and post intermittently but rarely. There are some cool people here that aren't (that I know of) posting at HC anymore. Cheers.

wow...been awhile since ive posted here...HCAF always usually...but ive been goin through the Gutierrez and Egnater forums alot...not as much traffic in the postings here though...

damn this board though..i start a new job on Wednesday and debating on the Gutierrez Juggernaut..damn..not that bad as i would only have to put half down then half when done...but the vader cab comes first...DAMN YOU RIG TALK!

sevenstring.org and the sneap forum > HC

and this forum is just pretty meh... too slow...

No wonder they never stickied the ATX Ampfest thread. It all makes sense now...

I PM'd justcrash, and he has no clue WTF is going on either.

maybe they got the hacks? LOL
Or, some nOOb webguy hit a nuke button.
Kinda funny, but whatever.

IMO they could have rebuilt the forum from the ground up in the time it's been down (it's practically an out of the box PHP based forum with (I imagine) a typical SQL backend (of which the database has likely taken a crap). Catphish and justcrash have made it clear a few times lately that essentially, nobody is supporting the technical side of the HC forums at this point. The error messages are consistent with the actual database itself being down or not being able to connected to. It won't fix itself, so it'll be interesting to see if anyone bothers to get the resources to fix it since that is the current grey area at HC. Like I said, some pretty sick and demented posts have occurred there and it's a genuine possibility that Musician's Friend may just see fit to say "screw it...this gives us a bad name".

I'll admit it, I'm addicted (at least at the moment...I go through phases depending on how busy I am at work or with bands and it has been slow with both...but also go through periods of months without posting). I'm not going to make any justifications like it's good or bad for me, it's just something I sometimes do (in streaks). I'm not going to pretend I'm too cool for HCAF and I do hope it comes back up though because it is a place to grab major laughs and there are at least 6-7 posters that come to mind that I will miss corresponding with.

Bugera 6260?

How did your gig go?

Oh, man, you didn't get to read the post on HCAF? It was legendary......ish.

No...don't suppose you have it saved or could give me the condensed version could ya?

You broke a string didn't you!

Well, the gig itself went great. Titties were flashed, etc. The JSX sounded good for once. The bar owner said it was the best business they'd done in 8 months. I didn't break a string, and there were very few rough spots. Everybody loved us.

About 3 songs from the end of the show, the toilet in the women's bathroom overflowed and poop water made it's way out so far that my pedals were sitting in a puddle. Luckily, they didn't short out, but they now smell slightly of poop water.

Then, a drunk backed his car into the bassist's truck as we were loading up, and I had to pull his ass out of the car and hold him until the cops showed up. As you know, Monticello is not the city I work in. He ended up blowing a .289.

Holy s***bag sandwich (am I allowed to actually cuss on Rig Talk?)!

That sounds about what I would expect from a gig in Monticello, except for maybe the poop water.

Man...that is legendary. You've only played a handful of gigs and already have a story of "that gig".
