So is this primarily a heavy metal/hard rock guitar player's forum?

That fucking guitar sounds awesome. He gained it out. I don't know if he just cranked the master or what, but that is the best "clean" gain I have heard. That fucking guy had something.
Freddie's main rig is an ES345/355 Gibson straight into a Twin or Quad Reverb, with JBL's if possible, cranked all the way to 10. Here is the recipe:

Twin Reverb-Vibrato channel input 1

EQ: Treble: 10 Mid: 1 Bass: 1

So basically Treble maxed and mid and bass all the way down. It seems counter to common sense but with a humbucker equipped guitar it just works. I think his guitar volume control is below 8. When you go past 7 or 8 with those settings it becomes a different tone and loses some of that clean edge you are hearing. Anytime I can get away with these settings I do it and it just sings. Like playing a completely different instrument. Guys wonder how I can get away with that kind of volume. Cause I dared to try, that's how. LOL

I was running a blues jam and got off stage to let a bunch of glam rock looking dudes up to play and forgot to dial back the amp volume. Dude had an LP junior and it just screamed. I sat back about fifty feet and let the thing rip my head off. It's nice to hear others through your rig sometimes and get an actual feel of what it sounds like out in the audience. I was like "hope he don't blow my JBL's" cause it was LOUD. Dude sounded like a total boss, glam rock hair and all. KIled it.

Me and the kid dB'ed a Twin with JBL's using his I-phone one foot from the grill cloth and we were getting 129.4 dB or right around there....

Yeah. I have a db meter, out of the line of the cab (just to the side) I usually play at 107-110 for recording and other good fun. I used to do around 114, but my ears had trouble recovering, lol

We can talk…
But no JBL’s :bleh:

Not at all; I started learning accordion recently; this is an inspiration, and shows some here are into various types of music.

Here's mine, but not even attempting button accordion like the guy in my last post:

Ah, ok got it. Button accordion certainly looks intimidating, though maybe it's as comfy as a fretboard once you're used to it. Got any plans for pirate metal covers?

no pirate metal for me. didn't know that was a thing! :dunno:

My ancestor was a pirate and I play metal, does that make it pirate metal by genetics?

Most of us here hold Gary Moore in high regard. Which sort of applies to your love of the blues. Really, most guitar players at the very least have a healthy respect for the blues. After all, that's where it began.
Gary Moore was great before he started playing blues in the 90’s….Not a fan of blues at all…far out jazzed up blues is cool though.

I'd gladly forego the ability to scramble up a tree in favour of looking like you.

I mean, tree-climbing abilities only go so far when it comes to impressing the gals these days. :dunno:

Doesn't stop me tryin' 'though.
Stop throwing your shit everywhere !!! ?
