I'm amazed with all the hype that some amp guru out there hasn't reversed engineered a Cameron mod into their own amp. I've tried several Splawns, a Suhr, a Bray, and a few Voodoo Amps mods, and they've each been good in what they do, but they haven't hit me the way the Cameron mods have. About the only thing new and exciting I've had the pleasure of trying is the Landry 100-watt that Sgt Thump now has, and that thing is a beast. Very different than the Cameron, but very awesome.

But, without customer service, a quick turn-around on repairs, and reliability, I probably won't buy another Cameron.

I'm not condoning reverse engineering BTW, I'm just saying. And truthfully, isn't that what other people have done with famous mods such as Jose's?

Imagine pairing the awesome tones of the Cameron with a stand-up person like Scott Splawn or Trace at Voodoo.....that would be a winning combination.

Absolutely! If it was as simple as copying a spec from the net everyone would be able to build an amp that sounded as good as a Cameron. Mark's got the gift and that's why we're all here talking about his work.... (or lack thereof )

People do reverse engineering on all kinds of things. All the guys that do mods and build amps have done it. Many if not all amps come from this practice.

Most of the time they learn how things are done ..... add on there own things or add a few different ideas together and create something new.

Nothing is new under the sun.

This is very true and the fact remains that JB is not selling these as his own from what I can see and Mark as far as I can tell is not in the business of providing mods so in the end I do not see anything wrong.

Well if you blatantly making claims that yours are better than the originals, you have 1000s of hours of research which is really de-goping dumbles and coping, and make claims you are a master builder of all dumble then you have gone way over the line IMO. Then by charging $4000-5000 per amp stating you have to make up for 1000s of hours for "R&D" then you get the firehose treatment with thongs on.

Using that butt ugly vox cloth for the headshells gets an atomic wedgie.
