because you cant argue the mod's he did sounded amazing. the work he does is great for analog tube theory.
because mark fine tunes the amplifiers one by one using his ears and knowledge it would be frustrating to not be able to mass-produce an amp line because tone is involved. anyone ever think of that? but what makes this even harder on the customer is that he cant really give a reasonable timeline. years pass by and people have pretty much lost hope of ever seeing their cameron marhsalls./rant

The jose master volume uses zener diodes to clip the signal which is basically a form of SS clipping into the tube path to get distortion which mark uses on his mods.. I'm not sure that is analog tube theory?

CCV has pcb boards just like ever other mass produced amp. I honestly believe a good designed pcb board can sound just as good as point to point or turret style.

Personally I think he keeps the amps for years on end because his mods are just letting the components age.

NOS parts bitches!! NOS always sounds better.

 Just got in and read through all of this. From what I understand, Nick has one CCV and he wants another to use live so he basically does not have to worry about having the amp stolen and then being without. I don't think that this kinda reasoning is off base, just the demand from the seller is that "Hey I want more than you are used to seeing" and Nick has the money. PERIOD! I also got some calls today and maybe things will be different real soon, who knows? ;)

So does anybody really know when Chris S. is going to start production of these amps or maybe that is why Nick was willing to pay 5K for one as he knows that there will be no more amps being built?
Wow, you read my mind!!

Well it would seem that if Nick was the spokesperson for Cameron Amplification and he was willing to spend 5K on a used one, there probably won't be any more any time soon. Just shows you that no one involved with that so called company has legit answers, all a bunch of B.S.

A+ I couldn't agree more !!!!! A total fucking joke

I remember when the Cameron hype reached a feverish pitch on Rig Talk for quite awhile, then due to the business failure has been replaced by Fortin as the next big thing. Everything goes in cycles.

Does this mean we can replace the Cameron hype forum with a Fortin hype forum? ;)
Good idea acually. I'm all for that!

You have my vote , anything is beter than this fucking bullshit  :D

I'm amazed with all the hype that some amp guru out there hasn't reversed engineered a Cameron mod into their own amp. I've tried several Splawns, a Suhr, a Bray, and a few Voodoo Amps mods, and they've each been good in what they do, but they haven't hit me the way the Cameron mods have. About the only thing new and exciting I've had the pleasure of trying is the Landry 100-watt that Sgt Thump now has, and that thing is a beast. Very different than the Cameron, but very awesome.

But, without customer service, a quick turn-around on repairs, and reliability, I probably won't buy another Cameron.

If you want that smoking Marshall on roids sound give Mike Fortin a call.

My good friend reversed engineered an un-gooped Jose he had. The thing rips. Sounds like......a Cameron!

After seeing threads like this a fully loaded Mark IIC+ loaded long head I bought for 2500 was a steal.

I dont like paying more that 2k on a amp that I have no artist or recording to refrence for tone.

Wow! $2500 was certainly a steal...congrats!!! I traded Todd Duane my Herbert for his IIC+ and never looked back. Love that amp....the best Boogie ever made IMHO

Without a doubt. Although people think the IIC+ is all hype and that's complete BS. It's simply a great sounding amp. It's just sad that Mesa seems unable to recreate that tone. The Mark V was a HUGE letdown for me. Just a mediocre amp.

Camerons are great sounding amps as well. It's just too bad that their business never took off, and i doubt it ever will.

And let's lighten things up shall we?

I think the entire auction, seller and most bidders was a shill.

Can we say marketing to generate hype and justify a price increase before actual product "launch"?

:gethim:

your so off course it hurts dude...

as for a reply to JB and Barzini, say what you will about me or Mark or whoever else but I have respect for the person who has stepped in for Mark and I'm sure he will chime in here when he feels the time is right.
"stepped in for Mark"? Whatever... I'm sure whoever it is will do a great job in comparison.

You don't even know why I have a beef with you do you? You really don't have a clue do you?

why dont you tell me why then JB? WHY??????

You don't even know why I have a beef with you do you? You really don't have a clue do you?

WHY ARE YOU BEING A DOUCHE? DO YOU THINK I BURNED YOU ON THAT AMP I SOLD YOU ??????????? I DONT GET IT
YES, YOU DID BURN ME!!! Here's how it went.

You tell me, yeah man, this is probably my favorite Cameron I ever had. I retubed and biased it and it's all good. I end up buying it.

The day I get it I plug it in and it sounds like SHIT. Not only the worst sounding Cameron mod I ever heard, but right up there with the worst AMPS I've ever had. That is, what I could hear over the extreme hum problem. Not a slight hum. A hum where it was absolutely A PROBLEM.

I check the bias (Nick told me he put new tubes in and biased it, but I'll check anyway). Wow....11ma!!! WTF. Lets turn that up to 34 where it shoud be. Up, up and away we go to a maxed out bias at 31ma. Hmmmm  Did he bias it? WTF. If he biased it correctly, he would have KNOWN something was wrong:confused:

So I call you and tell you... or IM you. You play dumb...hmmm I wonder this, I wonder that. It was fine when I had it... Whatever.

So I have to bring in to my tech 2 hours away, where he spent a WEEK taking all the goop off the inside of the amp, and another 3 weeks tracking down the hum issue and making the amp acually sound good.

So now that I have it fixed and sounding somewhat better, I sell. I sell at a much lowwer price than you sold it to me so I wouldn't feel guilty about it. I paid $1,800 for THIS? I'm not going to do that to somebody. So I took a $400 hit on it, on top of everything else.

So yeah, I think you screwed me. What would YOU think? And how would YOU feel about ME, if I did that to you?
