Some of the best recorded guitar and drum sounds. John Corabi and Mick Mars used SLOs mostly on this.

I believe Daniel Johns used an SLO exclusively post Frogstomp. Not really a major guitar band, but I think they may have set the table for Muse.

Pretty sure the first firehouse record is and Alex Skolnick used it for leads on one of the most recent albums.
I read on another forum that Leverty used SLO, Plexi, vintage Bassman, and a few more to blend in on both albums.

I'm sure it's been mentioned but the first 2 Lynch Mob albums are SLO for most of the tracks, with the purple Pittman Plexi mixed in the first album in spots. Gary Moore used the crunch channel with a boost for everything. He ended up going back to his favorite Marshall for recording later in life...which he "borrowed" from Robin Trower lolol.....I wonder if his estate gave it back to him..

Slightly off topic, but I would have loved to hear SRV playing the one Mike built for him.

RIP SRV.

Isn’t this an SLO? I like the extra hot nastiness it gives to that opening riff. Never played one myself.

I thought that Firehose album was Yamaha T50 heads? Derived from the SLO, so it's arguably could be as close as a HR?

I seem to remember that the general thinking is that Bill endorsed the Yamaha amps (along with those yellow Pacificas) but actually used the SLO.

Bill Leverty of Firehouse used SLO. The first two albums were recorded by mixing SLO and 70's Marshalls

Bill used the yamaha series live for awhile, but the record was the soldano.

SLO + VH4

Ratt - Detonator and the less-well-known "Ratt"
Lynch Mob - Wicked Sensation
Great White
Van Halen - F.U.C.K.

Here is the unadulterated SLO in all its glory:

Silverchair used one on their first album. Not a fan of them but i remember reading that they used one. I believe the 1st or 2nd KSE album was a Boosted SLO.

First Silverchair album was a JCM 900. Subsequent albums I believe were all SLO.

That's what I thoguht as well, sure sounds like an SLO to me. I saw them live back then but don't remember seeing any amps on stage so i'm not sure what he was touring with.

Just went through Satriani’s book and he mentions the SLO, along with other amps, on the Extremist and Time Machine (studio half) albums. Definitely have heard of Summer Song being mainly SLO as earlier commenters indicated.

Pretty sure Silverchair used a Hot Rod 100, not a SLO.
