Indeed, and plays them incredibly tastefully. He is a candidate for "greatest vibrato ever"!

Big fan of Hackett... Guy's incredible. Tasteful, talented and awesome.

That classical clip is really cool.

His right hand technique is totally wrong and he's wearing a suit with a pair of Converse All Stars.. Fantastic !!

Technique cannot be "wrong" if it gets the job done :D

He is an absolute hero!

Underratted?

In my circles of music he was never underratted by a long shot... But ya by the main stream press most likely

I seen him live in LA on more than one occasion and been a huge fan since about 1982...

I have had all his solo albums like Spectral Mornings, Defector, Voyage of the Acolyte since day one, not to mention all his work with "the real Genisis"

What are your circles of music? :) When I say underrated I mean he's not spoken of in the same light as people like Gilmour, which is a shame because he's just as good (though in a different way).

This is the dude from GTR right? I always dug that CD.
You and I may be the only ones Dave. Max Bacon, the singer has one of the best voices that Ive ever heard in my life IMHO... was listening to the CD yesterday...

I hear a bit of Vai in the first tune posted. Or maybe I hear a bit of Steve H in Steve V? Post some albums to pick up. I am interested.

He's incredible...

Another one I can't keep my eyes, er, EARS off of is the great Ana... The harmonics are mindblowingly effortless in this piece. Brilliant. Gorgeous.

Hope you like, and by no means a hijack, just nice to see some classical input on this forum

Mo

Aesthetically and, most importantly, aurally BEAUTIFUL mate!

I love Hackett's playing. He's extremely underrated in mainstream music, but still popular in the whole underground neo-prog scene.

Kage, as soon as I saw the title I knew you'd mention the Floyd/Paul...

...and so you should.

She is incredibly graceful.

Stunning too.

No doubt, brilliant - talented - gorgeous, on every level. Every level. She's been in my repertoire of classical players for some time now, started at around 5 years of age. A prodigy of sorts. I find everything about her playing stunning... :worship:

As for a Lester with a Floyd, we've also got Lifeson in that camp too, no??

Have a good day Gents :salute:
