Wow, it looks like a killer pedal. I may have to get one, but $300 is a little steep. :aww:

I'll bet that you will love it! Sounds just like my EP-3....
I didnt need to hear that
Ok, then you won't like this either. This thing is UNBELIEVABLE! Exactly like what I remember my EP-3 to sound like.

I picked up an El Capistan last week and my Replex is on ebay right now to pay for it. The Replex was great but the Strymon was way more transparent. The Replex drove my sound too much.

This thing is a keeper... Makes me forget about W/D/W and micropitchshifting.... well... sometimes, anyway...

There was another email sent out today. There still seems to be some left at the moment.

Did you guys see the douchebag that offered his up a few days ago for $450 on TGP........

I've got a Brig delay and it's friggen great, ordered the Capi today to A/B the 2.

Same idiot probably on TGP with it. I post what a great bargain it was but for some reason my post vanished.

Cool! I've had mine for a couple months and I still have not really played with all of the settings yet, I just set it and left it.

That's how I was with my Skeddy Echo... Just set an forget. I sold it yesterday to get the Strymon EL Cap. I have a ton of echo pedals - including an EP-2 Echoplex. The clips of the EL Capistan sound absolutely incredible!

I had the Skreddy too but I sold it a long time ago before the El Capistan was even announced. I thought it was a very good sounding delay, I didn't think it sounded like an Echoplex, at least a solid state one and it was a bit too noisy. I've had several delays that were analog or analog/digital and when I would always question the noise factor, the wide response was that's where the mojo comes from. I guess I don't like that mojo then.
I've never understood that one either? What does noise have to do with good tone? The noisiest delay I've ever owned was an old analog Deluxe Memory Man with the Reticon IC's... The later DMM with the Panasonic IC's sounds WAY better IMO. Hardly any audible noise that I can hear - plus all the "mojo" you can handle!

I love the DMM tone but even with the Analogman mod to a recent DMM, the white noise in the trails with longer delays wasn't good.
I noticed that with the DMM XO, but not on my "big-box" DMM. I had a Diamond Memory Lane that had was really noisy, and those aren't really know for that. I've noticed that the quieter DMM's were constructed with op-amps that have gold lettering on them... The noisier ones have white lettering? I don't know if this has anything to do with the noise - but the gold lettered op-amps do APPEAR to be of higher quality.

To Analogman: "If it isn't broke - don't fix it"!

I was thinking about trying the El Capistan. But I can't justify owning another expensive delay. I've already got the Empress Superdelay and that thing is super-cool.

I had one along with the Brigadier, BSR and Ola a month or so ago. Sold them to generate fast cash, but I have another El Cap on the way now. Great pedal. I'll probably get the Brigadier and BSR again down the line when the used prices come down. Not so impressed with the chorus.

I may soon be in need of an analog delay. How do you guys who own these run them...straight in the front like a real echoplex or in the loop?

I run mine on the loop. Sounds like garbage in front. I use it more for tonal purposes as it doesn't really cut through like a digital delay. And that's why I bought a capistan. Analog and digital will be on my board real soon.

Anybody else other than a Bengals fan? :poke: :D

J/K...thanks! So in the loop along with my old DD5 should cover it for me?

I sent the chorus back as well, didn't really care for it. The Brigadier was great though, I would have never sold it if the El Capistan never came out, but I preferred it over the Brigadier.

I'm gonna get the Neunaber Chromachorus when it's released - just based on how awesome the WET reverb is.

I have the WET on order ;) DC-2 does it for me with the chorus though.

The WET is a killer pedal. Better than the Blue Sky IMO. I'll still get another Blue Sky because it's a great pedal too. I see he updated the WET starting on 10/22. I just got mine in Sept.
