Suggestions for a rippin 1x12 combo tube amp?

I guess maybe it's a better question to ask should I buy a combo amp or should I just buy a 1x12 guitar cabinet to pair with whatever guitar head I want?

What rig do you guys bring to a small open mic or a jam session?

That splawn combo sounds great and so does the budda one. I have been itchin to buy a splawn quickrod so if i went the route of splawn I'd probably just buy the quickrod

+1 on the Electradyne, or a Mesa F50. I'd also consider the new Marshall DSL 40 or the Peavey 6505+ 112 combo.

That's the first amp that I thought of as well...you won't find more versatility in a 1x12 combo. A 1x12 Mark V would do the trick as well.

A 1x12 cab is definitely more versatile, and your tubes don't take the vibrational beating they can take in a combo. I'd look for a Mesa theil 1x12 with an EVL. I have a custom theil cab with a delta pro 12 that sounds great with a bunch of different amps I've run through it.

what about the Marshall DSL 15C w/ a EVH greenback speaker?

EDIT: 15C doesn't have an FX loop so i guess DSL 40C with a vintage 30 or something similar?

I played one of those new DSLs and it was ummmm, not good. At least I thought so. How about a 5150 III 50 watt with a 1x12 cab?? I'm playing mine now through an old Sovtek 1x12 ported cab and it's a killer little rig. I do not miss my 4x12 at all.

what speaker is in your 1x12 you're playing with the 5150?
