I'm curious to what the amp sounds like w/o the EQ...then with the EQ

I forgot to do that   :D . I think I will make another clip with the volume turned up a little bit with the stock sound and bootg EQ's.
That'd be cool! I'm a rack mount eq n00b, but it looks like something I could throw in my rack that could really improve my tone. I got curious when I was checking out the PQ3 threads

That is my case... I don't have a clue about that stuff. However, after reading/watching about the EQ, I am thinking I need to do this.

I like 'em both.

I've owned the 1140. so transparent, it's not even funny.

I just realized, the color of the PQ3 is the secret to the Ratt sound, not just doing the same settings with any good parametric.

i liked the tc.

this demo also brought up something i struggle with...i get the mids clear where i want it but it's always a compromise because i sorta lose the low E clarity/attack, or the upper strings get nasty

the chords sound nice but the low e on this demo sorta hashes up a bit

so what's the secret setting to high gain clarity across the fretboard?

the only rock amp i've ever owned and played through that really didn't do this was the peacemaker.

hit a power chord and it was a brown freight train.
play the low E and it was greasy response but sharp as a tack.
and the upper fretboard just screamed with dynamics and didn't compress and fizz away.
