The Dual Recto RI is the best Recto to date. A hill I'm ready to die on.

Awesome demo! Because of you and with the help of a few beers I pulled the trigger on a Dual Recto RI! Amp should be arriving this afternoon! I'm pumped because this will be my first Dual Recto I've ever owned! I'm a huge fan of Mesa Mark amps so I'm hoping this one will bring a good flavor to my collection! Getting a pedal board setup shortly so I can test a few OD's with the amp! What OD's do you recommend I try with this?

Any Tube screamer variant.....Maxon 808 is very popular. Boss SD1, OD1X are others I've used and liked. Really anything that pumps up the midrange will get the job done on a Recto.

I've tried all the usual suspects as well as a good sampling of the cool kid suspects as well. While it's not necessarily my favorite for the bedroom, the OD1X is the secret weapon I always go back to for anything with the band.

So I've been playing the Recto RI in my rock band and it's been fantastic. Tonight I played it with the 7 string in the metal band and it was phenomenal. Sealed the deal for me, no other recto I've tried live (C, F, Gs, Tverb, MWs) has sounded that good. Both the red & orange channels were (very different &) killing it!

I'm really digging this last clip especially with the G12T75'S which were my least favorite with the HRG reissue. 2nd were V30 for me and Greenbacks were a bit fizzy with this amp. Again all tones are really good just think the Recto really matched well with the old school 75's. Thanks again!

both sound nice but i’d give recto the nod. in the right hands that’s a very versatile amp. prince metallica holdworth korn…
but oh the joy of mixing for kids using triple rectos and tsl marshalls in the 2000s…
in that era mixing any amp with a “triple” in its title was normally like pinning a race car with triangle wheels towards a mushroom cloud.

I have not tried the RI yet but I have a G mod to C and have really started to enjoy playing her with no boost. Red silicone. But I prefer the Bad Monkey over the SD1, Pepers, Koko, etc.
I used to have an Avatar cab just like that - what speakers are you running?

~490pv on both my HRG RI as well as the DRG RI I tried previously.
Note the JP & the MkVII was around 460pv.
