Hi Jason. You posting on this made my day. Every day I'm getting super excited to being closer to what has been designed. I am really looking forward to the day that I have you out either to track, mix, perform or pretty much anything else that we can think of.

One person that I did not give a BIG THANK YOU to for stopping by to check this out was Ryan "Fluff" Bruce. When I saw your post early on I wasn't sure what I was suppose to do. Was I suppose to respond or not? None the less, if I didn't say it Fluff didn't hear it. I'm looking forward to seeing you at NAMM and chatting in person.

To SAH5150...thank you also for stopping by and checking this out. What you're looking at is a culmination of my dreams for most of my life without the realization that this is what it was all building towards. I greatly appreciate the fact that you took the time to comment on this.

To everyone in general...I am really excited to share the work of my friends. Without the help of all of these people none of this would be possible. All these people that I talk about are people that I hold in high regard and the only way that I can show my appreciation is to simply say THANK YOU FOR BEING IN MY CORNER!

I have to admit that these responses really kick ass. The guy eating popcorn was super unexpected. This is my first time to do any kind of posting in a forum. The people participating in the conversation are stacking up to be equally interesting characters in the story.

Thanks for the cool emoticon Crankyrayhanky.

Hi Fluff...it's good to see you again on this thread. I promise to keep the pictures coming. If you get a chance you should talk to Jason and get his thoughts on this since he's seen how far along it really is. I look forward to chatting with you in January.

Today we started erecting the metal building. This portion of the work is being done by Antonio Mireles and Marcelo. One thing I know about these guys is that they are extremely hard workers and extremely nice guys. Of course having a six ton ATV forklift on hand makes an impossible job a bit more manageable. In addition to having a difficult task at hand...the wind out here can play hell with any work that involves any altitude. A side note, Antonio is a Civil Engineer from Mexico and the one thing I know is that he is extremely smart and creative when it comes to resolving problems. Antonio and Marcelo are two people that I hold in high regard and I am grateful for their friendship. In short, these guys are AWESOME! I hope you enjoy this round of pictures.

Gads

If I had a place like that mynfamilynwould never see me at all!

Hi Oz. Thank you for stopping by. Without your contribution this studio would not be possible. I am extremely grateful to have such a great friend in you. You kick ass! (The Austin Guitar House kicks major ass!)

Hi Fuzzyguitars. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and check this out. I think I may have the disappearing problem once this is completed. What you don't see drawn up is the remaining 1,200 sq. ft. I have yet to have sat down with Dave to work on the work flow of the things we want to accomplish.

Everything is looking stellar so far, glad to see that your vision is being brought to life right before your eyes!
Can't wait to see the final build!

Here we are with more of the metal building in place. Watching these guys work I realized that they had one element working against them and that was the wind. During this time the wind has kicked up more than usual. These guys made placing the metal on this structure look so easy. I know that it couldn't be as easy as they made it look. During this week they had some goals that they wanted to attain and they pulled a couple of 20 hour days. I have to restate the fact that Antonio and Marcelo are extremely hard workers. My biggest contributions were moving the lighting around so they could continue to work in the dark, getting gas, and bringing them any food that they requested. Basically I was their gopher. Go for this...go for that. Sometimes that's the job requirement when you're working with people that are helping you out. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

This is great! So many thanks for sharing it as it is being done! Love seeing this kind of thing!

:)

Hi JCDenton. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and check this out. It is exciting to see this come to life. I'm excited to see how things unfold and the contributions that we will be able to make to musicians, students, or something to impact someone in a positive way. Please continue to stop by and post your thoughts or questions.

Hi PBGas. Thank you as well for stopping by to check this out. Interest from people like you makes this all the more exciting. I always look forward to seeing who stops by and takes the time to write something, state something or even ask a question. Since this is my first time doing a forum like this, everybody so far has made this fun. I never thought I would have enjoyed posting something like this in a forum.

Thank you to everybody for making posting in this forum so much fun.

This is nothing but awesome. I wish you the best of luck

Truly awesome! I can't wait to see the final results. I think this type of facility would definitely constitute my nirvana.

Hi SkyhighRocks. Thank you for stopping by and checking this out. Thank you for your support. I look forward to the whole thing coming together and I look forward to peoples reactions to this process.

Hi Fender126. Thank you as well for stopping by and checking this out. Like you, I can't wait to see the final results and I can't wait to move the existing gear that I have into the building. It will be nice to get it out of the house.

To anybody in the area interested in coming to see the physical building please feel free to drop me a line. If I'm available I would be more than happy to have you out for a visit. I hope everyone is having a great day.

Hi again everybody. Here we are with the beams in place that will eventually hold the roof and the walls. It's been a few days of hard work by Antonio and Marcelo. These guys are like machines when they are assembling a steel building. During this time these guys were contending with some strong winds. I hope you enjoy this round of pictures.

Coming along great man! Really enjoying the pics....please keep going with em. Can't wait to see it done.

That is going to be an awesome place when done. I noticed that the building drain is not sleeved where it passes through the footing wall. IPC requires that drain to pass through a sleeve two pipe sizes larger than the drain. The reason is to prevent structural settling from damaging or shifting the drain. You may never have a problem with it. If it were me I would address it now by chipping out around it. If things ever shifted in a way that caused negative slope on the drain, it will be a bigger pain to deal with than fixing it now will be.
Good luck with everything. That is going to be a fantastic place to make and record music.

Here we are one step closer to having the shell put up. It's been another windy few days of placing large sheets of metal on this structure. Just like the pro's that Antonio and Marcelo they handled it like it was nothing. I am particularly amazed at how they traverse the top while tethered to the structure. At the peak of the structure they are about 26 feet off the ground and the wall height is 18 feet. This is to give you some perspective on what they are working with and what they are up against. I hope you enjoy this round of pictures.
