IMO You just need better people that can actually sell gear vs taking a customers order pretty much...... Maybe have people that actually play gear and know how to play a guitar and amp.....I remember once I played a guitar for 30 seconds and an older gentleman bought the guitar just because he thought I sounded good on it and he liked how it looked.... It was a Epi 59 with case.

Manager lady was happy because it was a 900 dollar sale....

He even had me play it before he bought it to make sure it sounded good

A lot of these guys working there should be working at IKEA or a shoe store....:dunno:

This and well bring Layaway back....

I am thoroughly disappointed in the staff everytime I go in a GC. I feel like a solid 8 blonde at a bar that guys just refuse to approach cuz women spent years griping at men for approaching them. I am willing to spend money and YOU have to approach a salesman. They refuse to come talk to me and ask what I'm looking for.

Also, while their guitar selection is great, my store's amp selection is terrible. It's all little practice amps.

Bring back competitive commission for the salesmen and then hire people who actually know the gear like previously suggested. And actually stock stuff, they NEVER have anything in stock when I want to order it.

There's always good amps in the seattle area guitar centers

the problem is always the sales associates - the problem isn't that they don't know as much about gear as I do, that would be almost impossible

The problem is that the sales people are completely and utterly fucking retarded, which is unacceptable - if you don't know what a baja tele or a "golden era" bc rich is, you don't need to be working at a guitar store

Our guitar center has actually become pretty great with the changes. I've been able to play guitars and amps that I never could have otherwise.

This store really did win me back with the changes and I've been buying from them ever since.

I only deal with the guys who have pink or blue hair and facial piercings that way I know I'm talking with a pro. 🤏🚬

That's how I know they are a fucking stupid 18 year old who doesn't belong in that job

But it's also the cashier I go up to when I've found an item that is obviously mislabeled or mispriced

I don't go into GC for advice. I go there to buy what I want, get a good discount, and get points on my GC card to buy more stuff. :)

A couple guys that work there around here are cool.
Can you actually get deals still? I thought they axed haggling. They have a PRS I REALLY considered, a 10 Top that's a definite players grade and I still think they're a wee bit high considering it's condition.

Also, I've been waiting about 3 days for the sales manager to get the pics of the back of the headstock showing the 10 and listing them online and he still hasn't. I just don't think the staff has any desire to do anything for the customer anymore.

Wow, you really are a PRS asshole now.

In the past few years, I found out that each associate gets a “friends and family” 20% discount coupon once a month. So I get 20% on anything big. I consider that pretty decent?

I’m sure can haggle other dealers to get more.

Just pulled the trigger on this from SWEETWATER. Nylon string. Ibanez GA Cutaway Thinline, Sapphire Red. It’s has dual outputs. 1/4” and XLR.
