I just got a Road Runner hard case at GC for an acoustic guitar and the case smells like glue. Pretty bad. I've had it open for a couple of days, not sure if it smells better. Has anyone else had this? Did the smell go away?
Dryer sheets and leave it outside out of direct sunlight for the better part of the day - it will remove alot of it. All you can do is let it air out and keep instruments out.
I bought a Charvel back in the day and it came with a case. When you open the case it smells like...chocolate. I've had it for 15 years and...it still smells like chocolate.
I've experienced some smelly cases too. An '06 Fender American Deluxe hardshell that stunk like nothing I ever smelled before, and two Gibson cases. One smelled like vanilla and the other like bananas.

Nope. Cover the hell out of it with dryer sheets and leave it open on a hot summer day and you'll be good
The most important thing is not to close it and let it air out as much as possible - may take a few days of mid day shade /afternoon sun bathing to get it to go away but it will remove alot of it.
You can air out guitar cabinets the same way by leaving them in the shade for cigarette smoke but tolex is harder to remove smells from than fabrics. Tolex takes 3+ weeks or more, fabrics just a couple days and some febreeze dryer sheets
