At a Guitar Center years ago I grabbed a Squire tele because it was on a floor stand next to some amp I wanted to hear. The fret ends were cutting my hands, action was high as F, and the jack was intermittent. Sales kid walks up with a big smile and says "that is one of the nicest playing and sounding guitars in the store!"

Then I show him that I am bleeding.

He engineered tonnes of great records for Brendan O'Brien back in the day - Pearl Jam, STP, Rage, Velvet Revolver etc - so was a good guy to learn from.
