I don’t have that option unfortunately. So for me it’s tube amp and load box vs going all digital

plus I get tones I’m happy with using a load box

The right LB and IR are crucial

what dbs are you recording at for low volume and which mic pres are you running through? I like low volume more than LB + IRs but it gets a little tricky when you have to up the gain your mic pres. The noise floor jumps up a bit and you gotta be careful with things like your home's AC coming on.

But overall I agree, still better for me

Also better for me and I recently recorded with both and ended up going all mic. Top end fizz seems more on IR's and more gain you add from a pedal for example, is where i hear even more fizz. I know fizz can be smoothed out with verb and some compression etc but I prefer the mic.

If the IR is made right, the amount of fizz in the IR is exactly the same as the fizz in the real cab+mic setup.

This, there is nothing inherent in IRs that have more fizz

It's just a matter of the IR being right
