Thinking of either a Wizard Modern Classic 2 or Suhr SL-68??

I knew he wanted to outsource the cabs, and that's understandable
I really hope he'll keep making the amps himself, if not it's kinda pointless

agreed.. this could be a potential quality control fiasco, hopefully not.

my New Wizard MC 2 just arrived and hour ago, and all I can say is Holy &$@!en Shit. It frighten roars and I just can't get over this uncompressed high gain vibe. Wow man.
Running it thru my friedman 4x12 cab w/ V30's. I am debating getting the wizard 4X12 to match. What do you guys think. The also have a cab where the speakers are like "googley-eyed" inside the cab. That is to say they are mounted off axis and not just straight out like a traditional cab. This has got me very interested. Any thoughts about the wizard cabs,,,

Congrats. Did you purchase from Scotty? I have no experience with the Wizard cabs other than I consistently hear they are great cabs. So you dig that mean thump? Excellent clarity. Big tone. Go check out the touch dynamics on the clean channel.

You probably mean multi-dispersion option on the 2x12
I have one of those... actually I have some 4x12s too
You can't go wrong with the cabs if you can find them at a good price
I think Rick has stopped production and sold off his last remaining models, so I don't think you can order some cabs directly from him for the time being

Will the clean do AC/DC gain?

On the MCII? You'd better believe it.

Pull the Boost on the Rhythm channel and you'll be Back In Black......

Thanks guys. I want to use the "rhythm" or "clean" channel for AC/DC type crunch and roll back the volume for clean. Then I'd like to use the Lead channel for Boston/Foreigner/etc. with a boost for solos or re-voice it for whatever else (modern Marshall type stuff). If it'll do that better than my Fargen Dual British Classic, I'll be pretty excited.

How you describe you would like to use it is exactly how I use mine.

We're talking about amplifiers here, right?.....

Well, I have to say that so far I'm very impressed. Best amp I've ever heard and the amount of control you have just with the volume knob is unlike anything I've experienced. I'm also somewhat surprised at the amount of gain the lead channel has boosted. Dig in with your pick attack at this thing is brutal. Lighten up and it responds accordingly. Can't wait to put this thing to the test.
Damn man, I took a really nice picture to show you guys but I'm getting that "board quota" shit when trying to upload. There was a big problem with this about a week ago, guess it's back again.
Damn damn.

Wow. The wizard of Oz right there. Do the 2x12 cabs have the open back option. Also, are they not as deep as the 4x12? Beautiful collection brother!

This particular 2x12 is designed to go on top (or bottom) of a 4x12, so it's the same width and depth as the 4x12. Multidirectional and open/closed back option as well. It also can be used as a stereo cab

Any chance of posting up a clip with an LP of this? PLEASE!!!!! :D

I recently got a 2014 MCII, with everything. It's by far the most open, dynamic and huge sounding british style amp i'v ever heard and played. Been through tons of amps, and this is just the end of the street as far as quality and tone goes (for me). If classic british rock tone is your thing, the Wizard gotta be the best thing out there. There is a reason why AC/DC uses them.
Seriosuly... even the clean channel is just supreme! Dime it and pull the boost, and there you have the best plexi tone in the universe.

It's a great platform for pedals too. when I say great I mean GREAT.

Never have a Marshall reached the punch of a dimed Hiwatt.. but the Wizard does it, with that Marshall crunch.

It's like a super versatile marshall, with the the powerstage of a 100w hiwatt with Partridges, clean tone with the depth of a Vox. Boost enganged, get ready for modded marshall. With the new tone shaping options, the amp can get super thick and fat with a nod to more modern marshall tones.
