that first tone in your samples is fucking SICK (as are the others)! i'd keep that amp and just use the $300 cash to buy a fat bag of greens and play all night.
Nitro will eat the JVM alive in terms of sheer power, punch, clarity and ability to cut through a stage mix but like TX6 says, they are one trick ponies. That 1 trick though is pretty spectacular.
I got mine back when they first came out used (mine was I beileve one of the ones that scott unveiled at splawn con) so I paid about $1750 for it. I think if I sold it (which I won't) it would probably fetch around $1500.
I put a set of KT88's in mine and it gave it a bigger cleaner sound and didn't alter the tone or voicing.
the amp takes overdrive boost pedals like a CHAMP as well.
I did these a while back.
<- the very last chord ending the song is more or less what this amp does best in a nutshell in my opinion but that clip was done with the resonance raised up to about 2 o'clock at half power and gain at about 10 o'clock.

Well, The jvm has a lot more bass than is really needed and sure you can turn it down but when the coupling caps are passing too much bass through each stage the amp gets muddy and loose sounding and you can't really just dial it out with an eq or something.. So I changed the first coupling cap value and lowered it and then put the 2nd one on a switch so I could have less or more depending on how I felt on any given day or what ever recording needed something different. The negative feedback adjustment lets the amp get louder quicker so you can push the power tubes quicker for a quicker break up in the power section. I put a switch on the mid range and added a different value for a mid boost type of thing which I pretty much leave in all the time now.. I also changed some resisters in the preamp section so I could make the orange channel a little heavier sounding.. I always liked the tone of that channel better.. Anyway the amp is for sale mainly because I want the 4 channel version.. I wouldn't part with it other wise.. The Splawn thing was just kind of a passing deal and a thought..
I plan on getting the amp a little tighter so I get more into the Cameron, Mike Fortin, framus area.. I think I will get it there soon.. Anyways the clips where cut through a peavey triple x cab using an Sm57 and an audio technica atm650. The 57 was right dead middle cone and the atm650 was underneath it almost touching it.. Equal levels and no after eq at all.. Straight tone with an ISP decimator pro rack g in the front and in the loop.. Peace..
